Booked for 4 nights but didn't stay.Rusty car on front lawn. no lock on bedroom door, have to go through owners lounge to get to the room. Very cluttered and not of an acceptable standard. Twin room very small no access to wardrobe without taking chair out of the room. Standard of bathroom very poor, would not have used.

Booked the self contained family unit back in August 2016 (there was no option to leave a review then). When we arrived we were shown the room by the owner’s son and alarm bells were already ringing! When we were shown the upstairs room, it was not self contained at all and my 2 young boys were expected to stay on their own upstairs with no locks, a long way from us was unacceptable in every way! The place was filthy with dead flowers in vases and mess in the main part of the house (which we had to go through). Our part was also dirty and grotty, We spent all evening in Totnes trying desperately to find an alternative. Eventually we found a place that could accommodate us for 2 nights out of the 3 we were due to stay. We reluctantly stayed the first night and our children topped and tailed on a mattress that was found under our bed. We paid the first night and left as fast as we could the following day. A terrible experience that I wouldn’t want another family to go through.

Excellent accommodation, genuine and very trusting owner who left us the run of the house overnight while she attended a meeting. Very out of the way, peaceful and beautiful. My daughter, grandson and I had the double room with the kitchenette and ensuite bathroom. My daughter had the double bed, I had the single and my grandson slept in his travel cot. Welcomed with pots of tea on arrival. Lovely breakfast each morning. Would certainly recommend to anyone else. Great place to explore Dartmoor and the South Hams. It was 2011 that we visited and the options only give back to 2017.

We booked the accommodation in good faith, having booked a self catering accommodation we were utterly shocked to arrive at a B&B to find that the booking for 3 people were split so that a couple could have the self catering section but the third person myself a young lady was expected after walking through the B&B living room to sleep upstairs in a room which had no lock on and the landing & bathroom shared with various other guests. When my Mum told the owner that we would not be staying because of the set up and the facts no locks were on the doors so every time you leave the premises you have to leave your belongings knowing people can just walk in and get them. My mum was confronted with a bad attitude from the owner saying locks could not be put on the doors because the building was listed, that we had been given fresh eggs and Flapjacks (they weren't a treat when we ate them) and in fact the second room for me she was letting us have for free. We were also told that both rooms had ensuites but clearly the owner doesn't understand the meaning of ensuite as the upstairs room was not. We paid £295 to stay there for the first week in September which isn't exactly cheap. We were told we were being ungrateful for everything she had arranged for us and we'd have to pay £100 to leave so reluctantly we paid the full price and stayed the week. The country lane to the B&B from the Main Road is full of pot holes and is shared with other properties who drive down in at stupid speeds and we nearly had a couple of collisions. The parking was dangerous having to hump the car up a steep kerb on to the parking space. I would tell everybody to never ever visit there, we were treated disgustingly. Customer service is not clearly in Jennies understanding. If we were told the three of us would not be staying together in the unit and no locks on the doors we would never of booked and this information was deliberately kept from us.
