As TripAdvisor is a platform increasingly used by travelers, we must inform that your comment does not represent the truth of the facts. Unfortunately, this platform allows everyone to comment, regardless of whether they were in the hotel or not, so we have to restate the truth.
Is important to refer that you are making negative comments, and asking others to do so, just because the hotel has not complied with your request.
You have made a reservation through our website, which lists all existing rates and programs in accordance with their cancellation policy. You chose a better price offer, which was explicit in the form of payment and the impossibility of canceling at no cost. Some days later you asked us to make a cancellation at no cost, claiming that you were mistaken in the location and did not want to come to Guimarães. However, our location is very explicit in our website, and even at the very address of our page.
Consequently, it was explained to you that, given the offer you chose, a refund could not be made but, exceptionally, we would allow a change of dates and you would get a credit to our hotel, thus not losing the amount of the reservation. You immediately declined, saying that you knew that you would not be permitted to cancel at no charge but you asked us to do so exceptionally.
We understood your situation, which was analyzed by our administration - and you were warned that it could take time as it was an unusual situation. However, and before receiving our final answer, you started making negative and insulting commentaries and criticisms on our social media and also by phone, then calling the hotel several times to whine and crying asking us to apologize and return the payment.
Yet, you are asking us for an exception, understanding, and a refund, and go online and call to insult and make negative comments? We do not think this behavior is correct or coherent, and the definitive answer was like the initial one.
