We are located in the pretty village of Guejar Sierra - the heart of Granada's Sierra Nevada National Park – just a hop from the historic centre of Granada and the Alhambra Palace (A UNESCO World Heritage Site), as well as the Sierra Nevada ski resort. The village is a fabulous year round location for both summer and winter holidays. Seasonal activities include walking, horse-riding, mountain-biking, canoeing, climbing, canyoning, skiing and a calendar studded with local fiestas and cultural events. There is outdoor dining in and around the plaza in summer, views from every corner, quaint shops and great choice of tapas bars and restaurants within strolling distance. An unspoilt location with a great local culinary tradition and a generous tapas culture - you will find prices here much cheaper than in the international ski resort, or the centre of Granada. Ski equipment can also be hired more cheaply in the village. The apartment offers a relaxed, comfortable home-base from which to enjoy everything that this richly diverse region has to offer. ACCOMMODATION DETAILS - The apartment has a comfortable ensuite master bedroom (with double bed), which opens onto the terrace. The second bedroom also has a double bed and the third is equipped with twin beds. For even larger groups there is also a quality double sofa-bed in the spacious living room. There is a well equipped kitchen, and two bathrooms (a large, family bathroom in addition to the en-suite). The private terrace has ample space for dining and lounging amid the lovely mountain views. It is also equipped with a large garden table and chairs, daybed, loungers, and a BBQ. The covered section of the terrace has the games area with pool table. FAMILY FRIENDLY - Our twin room has its own TV and DVD player with extensive DVD library. The living room has HDTV internet-connected Smart TV equipped with Chromecast, so guests can play any material accessible via their own laptops and other devices. We also provide books and games, plus a small pool/snooker table for family fun and some equipment for smaller visitors (please tell us at the time of booking if you need our 'toddler pack' with cot, highchair seat adaptor, or an additional Z bed for a child in the master bedroom). The village itself is very child friendly - all of the restaurants welcome children and there is also a lovely new play park. LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION - We are 20 mins from Granada/Alhambra Palace and about 30 mins from the ski resort. The pretty coves of the Costa Tropical can be reached within 45 mins (with some great 'chiringuitas' where you can eat fresh fish right on the beach). The traditional white village of Guejar Sierra itself has great tapas bars, restaurants, local shops, pharmacy, bank and two lovely pools in summer. Our friendly keyholders are happy to give advice and can help organize chef services, tapas tours, hiking, biking, horse-riding, canoeing, treasure hunts for children and babysitting. Guejar Sierra is also famous for its cherries - so just ask our keyholders if you wish to sample some local, organic, cherry jam! SKI RESORT - The apartment is ideally placed for skiing at Pradollano (Sol y Nieve Ski Resort) in the Sierra Nevada. The Sierra Nevada boasts the highest downhill runs in Europe as well as being the most southerly - so it often enjoys better snow than the Alps. The resort - with its superb services and installations was built for the Winter Olympics and offers its visitors a wide range of facilities and a ski terrain to suit skiers & boarders of all standards. There are 70km of ski runs, 45 pistes and 300 snow machines guaranteeing snow on the slopes. There is also night skiing by floodlight! As one of Europe's highest resorts it has a surprisingly long season and traditionally opens at the end of November running through to the end of April or even into the first week of May. The resort is so far south that the climate is superb for brushing up on your tan and on clear days there are views of Africa from the top! AFFORDABILITY! Competitive pricing based on number of occupants, NOT size of property (ie: smaller groups mean smaller overheads in terms of laundry/electricity etc - we onpass these savings to you in order to ensure that we always offer the best value for a property of this size and standard). For larger groups of friends wishing to travel together - we can rent the apartment together with the small 1 bedroomed apartment next door, or with a choice of 2 bedroomed apartments in the same building. GETTING TO US & GETTING AROUND - We are happy to share advice on flights/routes/timings/car hire etc which we have found to be cheapest. Guejar Sierra is great base for visiting Granada and has an excellent bus link so - depending on the type of holiday you envisage - car hire may not be necessary. Note on activities and excursions: some businesses may be affected by Covid-19 regulations. Beautiful Spanish villa apartment in Sierra Nevada village
Wonderful spot, beautiful views, easy access to Sierra Nevada AND the lovely city of Granada with the Alhambra Palace and fabulous tapas. The apartment is beautifully furnished with lovely views, all facilities. Had a wonderful stay and will return regularly now.

Top apartment!
Great apartment with everything you need in a perfect location. The view from the living room is stunning. Guejar Sierra is a brilliant little town, really friendly with amazing tapas bars and restaurants. Perfect for exploring the Sierra and really handy for Granada. We highly recommend this apartment. Hope to return one day.

Great views from the apartment
The apartment is nicely decorated, comfortable and spacious with lovely views from the lounge of surrounding mountains. Situated in a village with narrow streets and little alleyways which are interesting to explore. People in the village are very friendly. There's a regular bus to Granada for a day out. (If you are a light sleeper we would suggest taking ear plugs in case it rains as the drainpipe has a bend in it and the rain drips onto the bend)

Glad to hear that you had a lovely holiday. Thanks for mentioning the drainpipe - I've never noticed it, but will check which of the three bedrooms you were using and try to get it sorted (not that we expect any rain for the next few months!). Hope to see you again in Guejar Sierra soon.

Lovely village, beautiful views
We loved our stay in Guejar Sierra. The village is charming, and we enjoyed the surrounding mountains as we like to hike. The views are spectacular! The location is very convenient for visiting Granada. Rosie, the key holder, is extremely nice and very helpful. The apartment was basically clean and nice even though the kitchen is tiny and is down a long hall from the eating area. But that is not unusual in Spain as we found out during our 3 1/2 week trip. : ) The apartment is on the edge of town in a quiet area but a very short walk puts you downtown to the square, shops, and restaurants.

Many thanks for your five star review. I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us and enjoyed the apartment and the village. The kitchen is situated at the rear of the apartment so that the best use of the spectacular views is given over to the living room, master bedroom suite and 2nd bedroom suite. It is a galley kitchen , looking onto the palm trees in the interior courtyard and it is furnished and equipped well (with granite worktops) so hopefully it is an efficient workspace if you wish to rustle up a meal. However with the generous free tapas in the village - many of our visitors end up eating out throughout their stay. A couple of drinks in the Juan Franciso (setting you back about 3 and a half euros) will come with a tasty snack such as fresh bread and chorizos, or Spanish omlete and olives

Fabulously located in beautiful Spanish mountain village
This apartment suited our holiday requirements perfectly. We planned to ski in Sierra Nevada and walk within the national park. It proved to be a good choice being only 25 minute drive to the ski resort which was an interesting journey not for the faint hearted or vertigo sufferers! We walked from the house along a beautiful river through a gorge with spectacular views. The views from the house were delightful and the terrace was a perfect place to breakfast even in January. The house was tastefully appointed with plenty of room for six or more. The village location suited us perfectly, we enjoyed sampling the local tapas and frequented a fabulous little restaurant called Sulayr. Christina served gorgeous veggie and other tasty foods with such friendly service. She speaks English and was a helpful local guide. The village itself was worth visiting and the locals were very welcoming. We would definitely want to visit again.

Great place for summer holidays in Spain
Appartment booked by family with three teenagers. Great base for various trips in a beautiful part of Spain: Sierra Nevada (e.g. climb to peak Veleta), walking in Natural park, swimming at Camping Las Lomas or at waterpark aquaola in Cenes de la Vega, visit to alhambra/Granada. Big appartment, luxureous kitchen and two bath-rooms, nice terrace (partly covered). Very friendly welcome on first day. Quiet place. Tip: rent a car to get around (Helle Hollis)

Lovely apartment with a nice view over the mountains in a authen
Booking worked out well and easy over email. Key delivery though later in the evening was not a problem at all. We we're personally guided through the narrow streets of Güejar (happy enough not having booked a bigger car). Three bedrooms, a cosy living room and a terrace with a great view over the mountains and the village. More than enough space for 6 people. Maybe just a bit more empty space in the cabinets and a few more coat hooks would be helpful especially if you go skiing every day. The apartment is located further up the hill but only about 5 minutes from the center of the village. It is a 40 minutes drive to Pradollano the skiing resort and worth every kilometer. Güejar was probably the best choice we could make. Not touristic at all, but nice little bars and very friendly people.

Our Stay in Guejar Sierra
We had a very nice time in Guejar. The appartment was well furnished + a parking lot. It could have been a bit cleaner (the bathrooms). We loved the area, Guejar is a phantastic location if you like mountains and great sceneries. Did lots of road trips into the surrounding valleys of the Sierra Nevada. La Hacilla was our favorite restaurant - good food, very nice people there, good prices. Granada was just around the corner with all the highlights, a car is essential though. I would always come back to Guejar Sierra - nice, quiet, enough infrastructure to get by, friendly people and very Spanish (that is, hardly any tourists).

Our cleaning lady has always been excellent and very thorough and we have certainly never previously received anything less than praise for the high standards of presentation and cleanliness in this property. However I have requested that the local property manager makes an additional check on the property in future to ensure that everything is 100% up to standard and presented as we would expect if staying there ourselves!

The apartment was clean, comfortable and reasonaby equipped.
The service was very friendly and accommodating. The apartment was clean, comfortable and we had a relaxed, enjoyable stay. The folder on things to do was a good idea. I think it coult be improved by a few more things in the kitchen, i.e. a sieve for straining rice would have been handy. Also the TV was quite small and the Satellite had a wierd system whereby we could not get anything to watch in English. However, we did enjoy our stay apart from that.

Sorry to hear that the client could not find the English channels on the Satellite system. The keyholders are only a phonecall away and are very happy to answer any questions. However we will also take this feedback onboard and provide full instructions on the satelllite in the house book for future clients. The kitchen should be fully equipped and we will check what's happened to the sieve!! Very glad to hear that the clients enjoyed their stay.

A Great Stay in Guejar Sierra
We had a great stay at El Laredo Grande during May, 2011. The apartment was great and the location was spectacular. Guejar Sierra is a small town about 30 minutes from Granada. The apartment is within a short walking distance from the center of the town. There are a number of restaurants, two small grocery markets, two pastry shops and a number of other small shops. There is bus service to Granada from the town center and the apartment has secure underground parking in the building. The views from the apartment are incredible. Driving through the town is an exciting experience. The streets are barely wide enough for one car but they are actually two way streets which requires careful timing and good backing up skills. Luckily there is very little traffic in town! The apartment is fully equipped - it has a great kitchen, comfortable beds, indoor and outdoor dining areas and air conditioning. The wifi service is a little spotty but it worked well enough for us. Denise was great to work with - the booking process was extremely easy and we handled all the payments through PayPal which was hassle free. I highly recommend the apartment - we had a great stay and would love to return.
