Perfect family - friendly Villa!
The Villa was incredible, as well as the stay we had! We will never forget a wonderful time spend with our family while the children were playing in the pool. Delicious BBQ self-made in the awesome garden and wonderful attendance from Catalunya Casas company. They were always there so fast for everything!!!! We will totally repeat next summer! Do not miss this experience!

Nice, but things you should know beforehand.....
Nice things have been said in the Catalunya Casa's website reviews about this property and it would be hard to disagree with most of them. However, there are a number of quite important matters someone looking at this villa should really be made aware of in order to make an informed decision before choosing it. These are not evident in the website description and appear to have been ignored by/not of concern to other reviewers. That is with the exception of the last review which went up on Tripadvisor a few days before we were due to leave for our holiday. The reviewer spoke of the fact that you could only access the pool and barbecue via the front door. This was something you could not discern from the clever photography on the website and we were hoping that was not entirely the situation (as it was too late to cancel). Alas, that was exactly the case. The impression we got from the website photos was that the steps from the pool would bring you to the kitchen - but as said, this was clever and not entirely frank photography. Convenience to the kitchen/living room areas from poolside are quite important to us, as I am sure they are to many people.. In this case, not only was access from front door, it was via a rather steep climb mostly on a driveway to and from the pool and could hardly be said to be convenient. It was also disappointing to find the entire pool area is overlooked by not just one house (which appears to be the case in the photos and in Google Earth), but by four houses. One of those houses is still being built (though thankfully not while we were there), another was not occupied while we were there, and the third appears to be use as a storehouse (and just below it, as a bit of a dumping ground with mattresses and other waste material blighting the hillside). Only the fourth was occupied. Overlooking does not mean a private hillside retreat. There are a number of other matters, including many barking dogs at all hours, music from a local venue and a drain smell...........

As an agency that specialises in family villa rentals (with gardens and private pools!) in Catalonia (Barcelona, Costa Brava and Costa Dorada) we take your feedback and suggestions very seriously and continually aim to improve our services. Our number 1 goal is 100% guest satisfaction, so we thank you for this information. Our response to your comments: Access to the pool and BBQ area: There is a very simple explanation for this. The villa is built on a hill and hence the access to the pool and BBQ area is from the basement of the property. As we offer our property owners the possibility to close a non-essential room of the villa for personal storage, this happens to be the basement room where the access to the terrace is. It has nothing to do with clever photography as in all honesty, the distance from the front door to these areas and the basement is almost equal. That being said, we have forwarded these comments to the owner who has graciously agreed to allow access from the 2018 season. Neighbours: Yes, the villa is located in a residential area and does have neighbours as you can see in the photos. It is impossible in this type of residential environment that there are no neighbours overlooking; however the good news is that they are all at least 400 meters away. El Cim: this is a private banquet hall, with typically only about 10 weddings per year, so this is not usually an issue for our guests; however we will ensure to note this in the publicity. There is a regional mandate that states that all dogs must be inside and not disturb other neighbours after 21h. We advise all our guests to notify us of any complaints from surrounding neighbours and if they are in violation of this mandate or any other laws, we will certainly contact the local authorities to regulate the problem. The negatives were that the accomodation was very basic (1970s) with no mosquito netting or fans/air on which made it uncomfortable to be in. The wifi was restricted by management after 4 days, as they said we'd used the equivalent of 33 HD films in bandwidth (nonsense as we were hardly in). Access to the pool was only via the front door and walking all the way round which made entertaining difficult. Good things were the stunning view and the BBQ (paid extra). Management were responsive when the lights didn't work but really should have been checked before we came.

We are so pleased you enjoyed the views in your villa. They are indeed spectacular. The accommodation is very much a Spanish summer house and is exactly what is seen in the photos. The WI-FI was not restricted by management in any way. It was not us that said 33HD films were watched - it was the internet company and therefore their restrictions. Please keep in mind that Spanish technology is still behind the rest of Europe and the Americas. The maximum consumption is 50 gigabytes, which is a very large amount of internet availability, but still many providers do not allow ‘unlimited´ access. We do admit that one lightbulb in a bedside lamp had burnt out upon your arrival which was not noticed by our cleaning and maintenance teams. We apologise for this and upon notification we immediately came to the villa and replaced the light bulb. To clarify, it is not the BBQ in itself that you paid extra for, it was the service of catering that we offer as supplemental services to all of our clients. Each of our vacation rentals is hand chosen and selected based on strict standards of quality but the actual decor of each villa we unfortunately cannot change and is based on personal preference of each guest. That being said, the photos are an exact replica of the furniture and villa you will encounter. We look forward to welcoming you again soon to this beautiful area!
