Just perfect
Excellent accommodation in a perfect spot to enjoy the beach, the walks, the pubs and restaurants and the shops.. We will definitely be returning!

Lovely family holiday.
Had a lovely family holiday at the Pavilion in lovely Sandsend. The Pavilion was the perfect venue for trips to the beach and a large enclosed garden which allowed the grandchildren to run about and play in safety. The house was very well equipped, was spotlessly clean and a delight to stay in. The owner (Anne) was very helpful and friendly and answered all of our queries. This was our first time at the Pavilion and we are bookex again for 2024 and would recommend tge Pavilion to anyone especially if you have young children.

Fabulous Property!!!
60TH DIAMOND ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS!!!!! We were a group of 8 and stayed at The Pavilion for a week late October to early November 2023 to celebrate our parents 60th Diamond Wedding Anniversary. The property is fantastic!! It was clean, comfortable, very spacious and was equipped with everything that we needed!! The Pavilion is in a great area, just a short walk to the beach and The Sandside Cafe, who did a mean bacon & egg roll!! It was a great base to visit surrounding sights including Whitby, Robin Hood's Bay, Staithes, Goathland and Grosmont. We highly recommend the property for a vacation in a beautiful part of North Yorkshire!!

Family holiday fantastic house and location
Stayed for a week with family, ages from 9 - 86. House was immaculate and layout suited everyone. Garden fantastic. House had all the amenities we needed and more than enough space for everyone. Views were great, with storm Barbet causing massive waves on the beach it was mesmerising. Location was perfect, 10mins drive to centre of Whitby and 2min walk to Sandsend beach. Driving range for attractions such as York and Flamingo Land. Communication with host was excellent and answered queries quickly. Would highly recommend and looking forward to hopefully going back again.

50th birthday celebrations
Stayed at the pavilion to celebrate our daughters 50th. The whole place is fantastic. I have never stayed in anywhere so well equipped. Everywhere very clean, good quality bedding and furnishings. The Pavilion is in a very upmarket residential area, just a short walk to the beach. We ate at the Hart Inn and the Fish Cottage , both in sandsend and both excellent meals. We will certainly be back.

Fantastic Home from Home
We booked The Pavilion for Christmas so our whole family could be together and make some special memories. The house was all set up for Christmas with Christmas Trees and decorations and we absolutely loved staying there. Five bedrooms with five bathrooms meant everyone had their own individual spaces and the lounge was a great catching up area with ample seating and a great tv with access to board games too. The kitchen was brilliant for our Christmas lunch and the table seated everyone comfortably. A quick walk down the hill and you are on the beach and you are able to walk into Whitby (tide allowing). A fantastic place to stay, great gardens overlooking the sea and we will definitely book again soon.

Great location
As a group of close friends who love walking we enjoy a stay here every year. It’s a great spot to catch up and enjoy walking the Yorkshire coast . The house is warm, comfortable, clean and well equipped . We have always found the owners very easy to communicate with before during and after our stay. Would highly recommend!

Great for family gathering
We stayed at the Pavilion during October for a family get together. The house was clean, warm, well equipped and comfortable. The 2 bedrooms down stairs ideally suited the elderly and disabled members of the group and each bedroom had a bathroom which was great. The sky sports package on tv was very much appreciated. The large parking area was also a bonus. The owner was very helpful beforehand and gave us all the information we needed. Whilst there we enjoyed walking on the beach, with our dog. We also walked into Whitby and to Runswick Bay. The cafes in Sandsend were also good. We would recommend this house to others.

Really pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay and it suited the needs of all your group so well. We also enjoy a walk to Whitby along the beach (when the tide's out of course!). It's about 40-45 minutes usually and you can always get the bus back if you don't fancy the return. I do hope you'll be able to visit us again in the future.

Highly Recommended
My 2nd stay at the Pavilion and just as brilliant as it was pre covid. Great sea views and by the beach. Spacious house with 5 bathrooms which are all of a high standard. The property has everything you need in terms of equipment and like last time was immaculate when our party arrived. The communication with the owner was great and quick as well. I would highly recommend this property for a large family or group stay.

Disappointed
A great location but the house smelled stale and wasn’t very clean. I took it up with the owner and was told it was because it was the end of a busy season. Unacceptable in my opinion.

I am very sorry you were disappointed in your stay at the house but I have to say a 2 star review is a disproportionate and unfair picture of our email correspondence. I always check with guests after their stay and you told me you'd had a 'lovely week' but mentioned 2 issues which were some stains on doors and paintwork and a smell of fried food which had lingered in the house probably as you yourself suggested from the guest leaving that morning having had a fried breakfast prior to departure (which is unfortunate but beyond our control). My actual reply to you was as follows and I quote: 'I’m pleased you enjoyed your stay but sincerely apologise that some aspects of the house were not up to scratch. Unfortunately your visit comes at the end of a long season of back to back visitors and from your photos and comments I can see that the doors and paintwork have been overlooked which shouldn’t happen but may explain why. I will take this up with our cleaners'. As you didn't contact me during your stay with any complaints to allow us to rectify any issues at the time it's surprising and disappointing to me that you feel the above justifies a 2 star review. We take any guest complaint or suggestion very seriously and try very hard to maintain the house to a high standard which is probably why so many of our guests choose to return.

Where the minimum stay is listed as 1 week it may be possible to book a 3 or 4 night break if the time period you are interested in is listed as available within 4 weeks' of the enquiry. Please contact the owner for a quote. All fuel, power, cleaning, bedlinen and wifi costs included. Up to 2 dogs by prior permission of the owner: £25 per break/week (please add to your booking request or notify the owner so your quote can be amended). A non-refundable deposit of 25% is payable together with the Trip Advisor service fee when booking via this site and the balance will be due 8 weeks before the start of your stay. In the event you are booking your property in the 8 week period before your stay full payment will be required. When booking via this site you undertake that if your party cause any damage to the property during your stay you will be liable for the cost of repair or replacement.
