Just returned from a very relaxing week in a lovely apartment just 5 mins walk from Puerto de la Duquesa,and 10 mins walk either side to the more Spanish towns of Sabillinas and Castillo. Fully equipment apartment overlooking a communal pool and gardens in position beside a golf course and main road. The apartment is fully equipped with everything you would need for a holiday,and more besides....we wanted for nothing and can see why it has such good reviews.
We only used it as a couple but it had room for up to 5 people(2adults and 3wee ones)so space was more than adequate for us,also with I nice balcony area where we spent most of the time as weather was great...26c...28c most days,it does have full a/c upstairs and in main lounge,we only used upstairs for sleeping as a nice breeze was blowing through most days.
Look forward to returning here as was very central to all things on the Costa and also Gib and west coast beaches around Cadiz.

Lovely Apartment, had everything we needed. Apartment in great condition and neat and tidy. Great location - not far from Port, shops and restaurants. Pool was great, we all thoroughly enjoyed and are definitely coming back.

Our new favourite Costa del Sol location
We have visited Estepona and Duquesa a couple of times before and the apartments and locations have been nice, but this was so much better. From the warm welcome, to nice touches like the games and jigsaws (didn't quite finish the big one), to the range of furniture and facilities we were comfortable from the start. There was always space at the pool - no reserving chairs with towels nonsense!
Previously we have had to tackle the highway shoulder to get anywhere, but La Almadraba is 5 minutes walk from Duquesa Marina, avoiding main roads, so we walked up and down the coast most days, walked to breakfast and dinner in a variety of local restaurants and even sent the kids to the little market for breakfast things occasionally.
The location is also ideal for exploring further afield - we took day trips to Cadiz, Casares and Ronda - all beautiful towns you must visit.
We will definitely come back!

Highly recommended. Well appointed with many useful items. Well maintained grounds and a good pool. Easy walking to shops and beach.

Great Apartment and Location
Stayed here for a week in September and would thoroughly recommend
This is an excellent spacious apartment that is well equipped with everything you need with high quality furniture , fittings , high speed Wi-Fi and good AC. It has a nice balcony that overlooks the pool and has views over the golf course. The pool is excellent and is set in well maintained tropical gardens.
It is in a great location with only a few minutes walk to the port restaurants and beaches. Gareth , the owner provided comprehensive information about the apartment and surrounding area , and Mike who met us was always helpful.
Overall we had a lovely holiday and would absolutely book Gareth's apartment again.

La Almadraba 424
We have just returned from 10 fantastic days at La Almadraba (424). The apartment was very spacious and had plenty of space for a family with 3 children (13, 11 and 7). We overlooked the pool and golf course and were really near the port and supermarket. The pool was great and it wasn't a problem getting a sunbed although you did have to get in early. I wouldn't hesitate recommending the place to stay!

Lovely stay in Puerto de la Duquesa
We stay at Gareth's apartment for 10 days and had a wonderful time. The apartment was well equipped with everything everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The swimming pool was great for our little girl and the beach was only a short distance away as were the bars and restaurants on the main marina. Gareth was a great host and provided loads of information before the trip (including excellent directions!) Would definitely reccomend.

Fantastic Apartment!
We are just home from a lovely trip to La Duquesa. This apartment has everything you could possibly need - well equipped, spacious and you could not get a better location! The complex is very secure and well maintained with a lovely pool. The apartment has a lovely balcony overlooking the pool and golf course which is perfect for getting the evening sun. It is only a very short walk to the lovely marina with numerous bars and restaurants. Gareth the owner could not have done enough for us. Booking, payment and key collection from Mike who is only 2 doors away was all effortless. Thank you for letting us book this great apartment - we hope to get back soon!

Bliss!
Just back having spent a very enjoyable eight days here. Could not fault the apartment at all. It had a clean and spacious living room, well equipped kitchen and utility room, the bedrooms were bright with one having en-suite - one even has a balcony overlooking the pool. The main balcony off the living room, overlooking the pool, was the highlight for me - spacious and clean with the sun in the afternoon and early evening, table with six chairs, a fully equipped barbeque - a brilliant place to end the day with a glass of cider - bliss! Would quite happily "move in"!
The pool is a generous size and there were no problems in getting a sunbed.
Although the apartment is in a quiet location it is only a five minute walk to the port where you have a number of various types of restaurants and bars to suit everyone's taste.
The owners, Gareth and Elisabeth, were extremely helpful and provided a wealth of information on trips to the surrounding areas and provided updated information on the availability of public transport.
The highlight for the holiday for me was experiencing Gibraltar's National Day and the dolphin spotting tour.
Will definitely be going back and would not hesitate to recommend.

A lovely stay in La Duquesa.
We have just returned from a lovely fortnight in this duplex apartment.
The location is perfect - 5 min walk to the beach and marina with it's busy bars and restaurants, 10 min walk to a large supermarket that contained all that we needed.
The property was spotlessly clean and the kitchen was well stocked with all the utensils we needed for cooking in or barbecuing. The air conditioning worked well to keep us cool and the BBQ on the large balcony was a great and welcome addition.
We used La Duquesa as a base to explore Andalucia and were able to visit Gibralter, Marbella, Puerto Banus, Ronda and Seville by car. There is a great little water park (Bahia Park) just a half hour drive away which wasn't over crowded.
The apartment is perfect for a family of 5 and our 3 kids loved being able to share a room with the help of the bunk bed.
The Lynn, the site manager, was extremely helpful and was always available if we needed her. The complex also has 24hr security and your hire car is parked in a locked underground carpark which gave added peace of mind.
The pool is a good size for the complex - though my only negative experience was that there was a daily 9am rush to get towels to secure the public beds. It would be helpful if the apartment offered a couple of its own privately owned beds to avoid this hassle (some other apts did this).
The port has a great atmosphere at night and there's every type of cuisine on offer. There's a small night market at the port and also a large Sunday market just outside La Duquesa.
I would highly recommend this apartment. Gareth, the owner, provided us with a wealth of helpful information prior to and during our trip and was a warm and welcoming host.

Really pleased to hear you had such a lovely time at Duquesa and sounds like you were able to travel around a bit as well. There is a lot to see and do in the area and that is the beauty of having a car.
Its sad about the issue with people reserving the sun beds at the pool. It is against the pool rules ad probably needs tightening up by the community. I agree with your suggestion about supplying beds from the apartment though, and we will do that for next year.
