There are views to the mountains on both sides, particularly at the top floor. The property comes with complimentary car parking permits for 2 cars in the nearby carpark. We have just arrived home after a week staying in this property. The location of it to walk into Keswick is wonderful. The bedrooms are all nice and comfortable and the house was warm. The lounge was nice and comfortable too. It is on a main road so the traffic noise can be heard quite clearly from the downstairs bedroom, I think this is made worse because the front door has quite a gap under it. After staying here I wouldn't say this was suitable for 8 people and that is due to the kitchen, there was 5 of us staying and it was really tricky to use the kitchen, the fridge is very small and the table was tight to fit 5 of us round as once everyone is sat down you're quite hemmed in which becomes quite frustrating after a couple of days. There is also very minimal cupboard space to store items of food etc. I reported the washing machine to the vendor as this broke part way through our stay, but was also in desperate need of a good clean as it was quite mouldy. To conclude though, we did all have a nice time staying here.

The house is gorgeous, helpful to have a downstairs bedroom and bathroom for an elderly member of our group. The house is nicely decorated, spacious and the kitchen is well supplied for making meals. I was particularly impressed with the customer service, the staff were super helpful with any questions and local recommendations. Some of us enjoyed a gorgeous walk up Cat Bells and to Lingholme, where the lunch is INCREDIBLE.

We really enjoyed our stay at townhouses, the property was at full capacity with all 8 beds occupied plus a dog and baby! Bit of a squeeze in the kitchen and bathroom sharing but manageable. Would definately benefit from a few new touches, mainly a good set of knives. Parking situation not as much trouble as anticipated as long stay just round the corner and passes provided. Top front bedroom a bit on the noisy side if you get party animal neighbours. Great spot for access to Keswick town centre. Only other downside was low water pressure and poor toilet flush which was rectified by quick attendance by a plumber.

Thanks very much for your lovely review! Glad that you made use of the complimentary car park passes. Thanks also for your observations - we have replaced the knives. The low water pressure was reported to the utilities company who have replaced some Victorian plumbing in the road, so we are now back up to full pressure. Thanks so much for letting us know about that!

Had a lovely stay very convenient for town centre only few minutes walk away. Only negative which can't really be helped was not being able to park outside to unload car but did Get a parking permit for the car park which was good . Beautiful bedrooms one being down stairs which is good for the less mobile especially with the shower room as well. Will definitely book again.

Relaxing holiday. Didn’t use car for entire holiday. Keswick is a great centre. Chosen as our family ‘dog’ holiday with grown up children. Fine food and places to drink, all dog friendly. Used to city style living and Keswick had a good mix of old and new. Fabulous days by Derwentwater even though weather was not always dry and sunny. Enjoyed challenge of Skiddaw and Latrigg and visited stone circle. House perfectly situated. Comfy and clean. Be careful if wanting to use downstairs bedroom for elderly/ disabled as sitting room is upstairs. Not a problem for our family. Tiny improvements would be a new set of knives, sieve and oven needing attention. Otherwise perfect !!!

Dear Journey, wow what lovely feedback. “Perfect” no less! It sounds like you had some really lovely walks from No. 7 Townhouses including up the various local fells (isn’t Skiddaw magnificent?). Great news that the car also got a holiday – this is what it is all about, so we are really pleased. In respect of your comment about elderly or disabled people, yes we absolutely agree with you and specifically do not hold out the house as being wheelchair accessible, since the ground floor offers only the King sized bedroom, kitchen (with breakfast table and seating), laundry facilities and the shower room. If guests do need everything on one floor, we would recommend contacting Keswick Cottages for alternative options. Thanks very much for letting us know about the oven – we understand from a follow up phone call with you that you were concerned about a failed batch of scones, and not about the cleanliness of the oven (phew!). Having tested the oven, it is getting to full temperature, so fingers crossed that there will be some GBBO-worthy attempts in the pipeline. There is a brand new block of knives on the work surface, together with a knife steel for sharpening. We did leave older knives in the drawer - perhaps these are the ones you mean. Rather than throwing the older knives away, we have left them for guests, just as spares. As for the sieve, we have no idea where it has gone, but will have a hunt for it or add in a replacement! Thanks for all your really helpful feedback – it really is valuable to us - and we hope you get to return to the lakes soon for another “dog” holiday. All the best from No 7 Townhouses.

A stones throw from the high street, but not noisy or too busy an area. We were a party of 6 adults and found it a comfortable size, perhaps would accommodate 2 more small children but wouldn’t recommend anymore as you are restricted to 6 for seating..... It was lovely and clean with plenty of cutlery,cups and plates etc, Although there is no parking the permits cover a long stay car park which is very close and it actually saved both families quite a bit of money as it could be used in 3 different car parks in the area. I would be happy to stay here again :)

Dear Reviewer, thank you for your lovely review! Yes it’s a location indeed, and a really nice feature of the Townhouses that they are both conveniently located for the centre of the town and with all the views of the mountains. We are also really glad you got the most out of your free long-stay parking permits. They were quite an investment for us, but we felt out guests would enjoy using them. And certainly yes, with its 4 double bedrooms, No 7 the Townhouses could definitely accommodate 6 adults and 2 children, although we are pleased to report that we are independently assessed by Visit England as a 4 star 8-person house. The lounge offers seating for 8 guests, as does the kitchen. However you are quite right that the outdoor space has 6 garden chairs around the table, and we would encourage parties of 8 to use the kitchen seating around that outdoor table. The good news is that, if you are doing that, it means you are having excellent weather too! We look forward to seeing you next time.

The house is very very close to the centre of Keswick, so perfect for a 5 minute walk to the shops or local bars/ restaurants. It is beautifully furnished, spotlessly clean and had every thing we needed. We took our 2 collies and they loved it 2! Our only issue was we only stayed 3 nights - we would have loved to have stayed longer.

Clean, comfortable, tastefully decorated, well stocked. Situated centrally within bustling Keswick. From the top, second floor bedrooms, a great view of the mountains.

We have stayed in and around Keswick many times, we wanted a family holiday which would include my Mum and her dog and be interesting for the younger people in our group. The property was lovely, well positioned with less than a 5 minute walk into the centre of Keswick and beautifully and thoughtfully presented. A well stocked kitchen, immaculately clean and every eventuality thought of, eve. Down to the umbrella by the front door. Will definitely use again
