Dismal. Initially they tried to put us in a dingy basement unit with sewer smells. We asked for another unit The second unit was poorly done, cheaply upgraded, torn floor laminate, black mold in bathroom, lighting was poor and was terribly old fashioned with pull cords, table was marked and stained. Kitchen was minuscule and dark with stained, dirty countertops. There was no microwave, just a filthy toaster oven. Safety issues include no grab bar in tub, glass shelving simply cut, not ground, knife sharp. Internet was listed, but only in the small print, on a separate screen, was it noted that it was not free, but instead 10 pounds/day. When this was questioned, management was terse and rude. I must say the desk staff was very professional and polite. The issues listed were not their doing.
There may be rooms such as posted on their VRBO description, but apparently management has been extremely lax in setting or enforcing quality standards for the units we saw. Based on this experience, I would strongly advise against using this property

Great location, lots of restaurants and shops around, easy access to the underground as well as Natural History Museum, V&A, Hyde Park, etc...
The rooms are basic but quite clean and kitted out with the basic necessities. Bed was comfy as were the linens and towels. It can be noisy as the windows are single pane and street noise comes through, the walls are also very thin; but it wasn't too bad.
Challenge we experienced was with cleaning of the flat while there. Listing showed daily cleaning, weekly linen changes if staying more than 7 days. We had no cleaning after day 1, 2 & 3; complained to the front desk and was told we were only eligible for a mid week clean, which in their view was day 4 of a 5 day stay. Day 4 came and went with no cleaning, complained again and was told this time there is no cleaning unless staying more than 5 days.
While I appreciate staff are in short numbers and businesses are working to rebuild; but they need to be upfront and set expectations, and at a bare minimum collect refuse from the rooms.
It was a great place to stay but the misdirection/lying around cleaning left us dissatisfied in the end, something that could have been avoided if there was more truth.

I was a solo traveler to London for the first time. The listing is not at all like it is pictured. There is mold in the bathroom, the walls are filthy, I found a hair on my mattress, etc. I contacted the host and he told me to deal with the concierge, and to ask housekeeping to clean the mold. Fortunately, the on-site management at Chelsea Cloisters is wonderful. They were so accommodating and even offered to switch my room, but it was a short stay so I didn’t bother. The location is excellent, but just be aware that the photos are very misleading.
