Beautiful building in need of a deep clean!
Chetwynd Lodge is a stunning historic converted stable block, however a luxury stay is promised and we definitely didn’t agree as we had to spend 3 hours on arrival cleaning just so we felt comfortable staying. There were thick cobwebs in every room and on all the furniture, light fittings, paintings, in the kitchen. We found a used plaster, sanitary towel wrapper, used tissue and massage oil, in two of the bedrooms, just under the edge of the beds. The carpets and rugs downstairs have seen better days and are covered in large stains. The oven was filthy, as was the cutlery drawer. The bathrooms were clean (apart from cobwebs) but no toiletries were provided apart from hand soap in two of the three bathrooms. The towels provided were cheap and thin. The beds were comfortable enough and the bedding was clean but the sides of the beds and the bedside tables were thick with dust and cobwebs. Two out of the three bedrooms had televisions as promised but we couldn’t get them to work and they were tiny anyway and one remote had no batteries, the third bedroom had no tv. The owner was responsive to messages but offered no solution to the tv’s not working although she did drop off some batteries and an Apple TV adapter for the main tv, we still couldn’t get it to work but it didn’t really bother us. We asked for a vacuum cleaner on our first night, which she dropped off for us, along with some other cleaning products but nothing more in the way of an apology than a text saying sorry it’s not clean, she has a new cleaner. None of the usual touches you’d expect of a luxury property, no welcome pack even though it’s 2 miles to the nearest shop so some teabags and milk would be a nice touch on arrival. There’s a Nespresso coffee machine but nothing to go in it. There was a dishwasher and dishwasher tablets and washing up liquid. Plenty of crockery and cutlery, pots and pans etc but only 2 pint glasses and 2 small glasses in addition to a few wine glasses. We didn’t realise until near the end of the week that the owner lived just next door, she also entered the property halfway through the week to retrieve the hoover, just letting us know in a text message that she’d done so.
The area is beautiful and there’s lots to do and see. We visited National Trust properties Shugborough Hall and Quarrybank Mill, made pots at Wedgewood, walked amongst Barbary Macaque monkeys at Trentham, canoed down the River Severn, enjoyed a bike ride in the Peak District and walks along the canal

The wonderful Ingestre Lodges
What a lovely place to stay! The surrounding Staffordshire countryside is so beautiful and the Lodges are sumptous with luxurous beds and bedding with en-suite facilities and plenty of room for parking. We found the booking process very easy and Anna C was extremely helpful.
We would recommend this to anyone - as long as its not when we want to stay there ;o)

Stunning and unique luxury accommodation
I stayed at Ingestre throughout rehearsals for a production close by and wished I could have stayed for ever! From the extraordinary backdrop provided by these unique and historical stables with a Christopher Wren designed church on the doorstep to the fascinating decorations within the stables; this was a stay to remember. The stables opposite are still in working order so every morning I would make a coffee and sit and watch the horses in the central courtyard. Anna and Aaron are the most beautiful and hospitable hosts, with many a story and so much care taken to make you comfortable. We had everything we could have asked for and not slept that well in ages - comfy beds, beautiful surroundings, walks to the local farm shop and a wide selection of books. I can't recommend this place more, I'll return again soon!

Another amazing stay at Ingestre Lodges
My wife, 4 teenagers and myself were very lucky to spend a week in Chetwynd Lodge. Anna and Aaron as in the past were fantastic hosts. Everything is 5 star. We spent the days riding but there is plenty to do in the district if you are not into equestrian. There are some great pubs close by that served great meals. We are hoping to return again next year.

Amazing location and facilities. Superb accommodation
We stayed in February 2017 where some equestrian intensive training was undertaken for progression in BHS examinations. Anna and Aaron could not have been more accommodating right from booking stage through to the stay itself. The Lodges themselves are immaculately renovated, retaining the original charm of the Stables they once housed. Couldn't find a better solution for our needs and would absolutely return. First class.

Perfect, comfy and relaxing, wonderful spot.
Booked all 4 areas for family weekend wedding. Anna was most helpful in providing everything we needed without any fuss.Had a great stay and were able to use the premises as a home from home for a post wedding party as well.
So many family came along who live in the area and did not know that this wonderful accommodation was here. A real secret location and a gem of a find.

Perfect accommodation for our wedding at Ingestre Hall!
Our family and friends had a fantastic stay at the lodges for our wedding at Ingestre Hall. We booked Talbot, Chetwynd and Diamond to get ready on our wedding morning and stay the wedding night. The bridal party got ready in one lodge with the men in the other. The facilities of the lodge were fantastic for us to get ready, eat and look after the children running around! The location of the accommodation was perfect as we all walked to the church before the ceremony. The lodges have been beautifully restored and every guest commented on how perfect they were. We would definitely recommend it to anyone getting married at Ingestre Hall or in the Church. We would love to visit and stay again..!
