The double bedroom is fully carpeted and attractively furnished. The shower-room is partly wood panelled and has a wash-hand basin and walk-in shower (no bathtub). Unique to this building is the shared roof terrace, which is accessed from the top of the entrance stairway and which has spectacular panoramic views over the city, sea and hills. Loved the location, very close to the station and Royal Mile. We found the flat to be very quiet despite being at the centre. The flat was comfortable and warm with the central heating only being used occasionally. We could walk to most of the attractions from the flat. The only recommendation I would make is that the cleaning could be more thorough, it was especially notable in the shower room where there was quite build up of dirt at the door entrance, behind the pipes and around the ridges on the shower base. I would still stay there again and hope to in the near future.

Thanks for taking the time to write a review and glad you enjoyed the central location near to the station. We'll check out your recommendations to make improvements here, and apologies for that. We also like the fact that the apartment is relatively quiet for its location (although it's not possible to guarantee total peace and quiet in a city-centre location), but it's great that the flat is walkable to most sights.

So close to the station and in the heart of the old city. Location is great. It was immaculate and how nice to arrive and find tea and coffee and a few basics to help your holiday get started. Martin so helpful and reachable for any questions. A very comfortable flat. Just a couple of minutes walk to the railway station, Also bus station not far away. We loved our stay. Thanks Martin.

The location was the reason why we booked this apartment, you exit basically onto the royal mile and are within easy walking distance of everything you need, even Waverley Station. We parked at the park and ride and didn't use the car except on the first day. The flat was great for what we wanted. Yes, the shower is small but we knew what to expect before we arrived. Kitchen was well equipped and everything was as it should be. We would be happy to return again!

Thanks for taking the time to write a review, and glad to hear that you enjoyed the central location in the Old Town. Park&ride at Straiton is a great option for guests who drive because Edinburgh is a compact city with a car not essential when staying (note that some park&rides don't allow overnight stays: Straiton does though the last time we checked). Sorry about the size of the shower: there is limited space in this shower-room but there are plans for a renovation shortly. Martin

I first booked a flat for April 2020 but had to cancelled twice because of covid. Martin really helped with that and also for everything else. He answered immediately to my messages. The flat is perfectly located by the royal mile. It is confortable and has everything you need for a perfect stay. I agree the shower is a bit small but it is ok for a week. The terrace on the roof offers a great view on this wonderful city of Edinburgh. And on top of it there is a fantastic pub around the corner, the World's End. I hope I will have the opportunity to go back to Edinburgh some day and will then definitely book the same flat.

Die Lage ist super, raus aus der Tür , direkt auf der Royal Mile. Zehn Minuten Weg zu meinem Stammpub, 5 Minuten bis zur Waverley. Die Wohnung ist gemütlich eingerichtet und der Service von Martin und Team ist hervorragend.

L'endroit est bien situé, à quelque minutes à pied des endroits touristiques, que ce soit les 2 châteaux, les musées, les magasins. À quelques minutes de la gare de Waverley. L'appartement est parfait pour un couple, et le propriétaire répond rapidement à nos questions.Séjour toujours très agréable. Nous recommandons cet appartement à tous ceux qui veulent visiter Edimbourg à leur rythme.

Second time in this lovely flat and look forward to my next stay! The location is amazing in the heart of the city a stone throw from major attractions. The house is very well appointed, the rooms are large and airy, bed is very comfortable. The shower is a smaller than stadard size but perfectly adequate. Martin and his staff are great . Last but not least the building has a lovely rooftop terrace!!

Wir waren sehr zufrieden. Martin´s Wohnung ist sehr gut, sauber und hat alles was man braucht. Die Lage könnte nicht besser sein. Alle Sehenwürdigkeiten sind zu Fuß erreichbar. Die Wohnung ist wirklich empfehlenswert. Martin ist ein sehr guter Gastgeber. Er antwortet alle Mails sehr schnell und sachlich.

This flat is near everything (Royal Mile, Waverley Station, Princes Street, Edinburgh Castle, etc.), and we never even had to use public transport. Make sure to climb all the way to the roof terrasse, as the view is amazing, to say the least, and make sure to visit the little cafes in the Arches below on East Market Street. We felt at home away from home. The bed is comfy, but the sofa-bed needs a bit of love. Also, note that the shower is really small, but apparently, it is a requirement for these Victorian apartments. The instructions to find the flat and get the keys were really detailed and made it really easy to find our way.

Thanks for writing a review, and it's good to hear that you enjoyed the very central location. We also love the view from the roof terrace. This apartment has a double bed in the bedroom and a sofabed in the living room; the sofabed is of course not a comfortable as a full bed, but we have two-bedroom options available if you prefer full beds. You're right that the shower-room is relatively small, as well as the cubicle, and this is because of the layout of the apartment and the given size of the room. The locations next to the Royal Mile and Edinburgh Waverley was amazing and the flat was spacious. They could do with putting a bigger shower in (I'm a relatively slight 5ft4 woman and I could barely move in it) and a bigger bed but the location is worth putting up with those small inconveniences, I think. The owner was very communicative and obliging, allowing us to leave our bags at the flat a few hours after the official check-out time.

Thanks for taking the time to write a review; much appreciated. The bed frame has just been replaced so that it's more modern and fresher; it's a standard size double bed. In the Victorian tenements there's a limit to the size of the shower rooms, so the shower is smaller than most. It's good to hear that you enjoyed the central location. We were able to allow you to leave your bags on your check-out day because we didn't have new guests arriving later on the same day; however, if this isn't possible (depending on other bookings) we're always happy to recommend nearby left-luggage options.
