This property is so classy and tasteful and has been finished to a very high standard. The owner was so efficient in getting back to you.
They have thought of everything you need for a really comfortable stay.
View over the Loch beautiful rain or shine.
Location excellent only 15 mins over to Skye and great for exploring all the other beautiful areas around the cottage .

Superb accommodation.
We have just spent a week enjoying the comfort of Avernish Lodge. The house has a real ‘wow’ factor. Situated not far from Skye bridge with beautiful views across Loch Alsh. Total luxury with every necessity and topped off with wonderful peace and quiet. A very special place.

Exceptional Accomodation in a Stunning Location
My wife and I spend a week here to celebrate our anniversary and her birthady in March
The Lodge is finished to a superb standard and is exceptionally clean and modern
Its location is breathtaking
I hope we are able to stay again!

Quality home from home
Great place to get away from it all, a real home from home.
The finishes are high quality and the building has a great design, perfectly merging into the landscape to make the most of the views.

Did not disappoint. Absolutely perfect!
Absolutely first class. We stayed for one week and loved the place. Everything within the property oozes class and makes for a very comfortable stay. We had mixed weather (to be expected in October) and loved the ever changeable views across the lock. Sky TV was a pleasant unexpected surprise, however the views out of the window won hands down! Communication with the owners was great via telephone or social media. The location was fantastic - a great feeling of privacy although not too far from all the essentials. A perfect place to stay for either relaxation or exploring the Highlands and throughly recommended!

Complete relaxation
This gorgeous lodge peacefully situated off the main road to Skye from Inverness is stunning. Luxurious yet comfortable. Our weather was mixed but we managed to have breakfast on the terrace and usually a drink before and after dinner on the terrace too - watching the tide come and go. We didnt need the woodburning stove - tho we were tempted to light it, just because........

Excellent holiday cottage with wonderful coastal views
We stayed for a week in late autumn and had a wonderful break at Avernish Lodge. We'd highly recommend it, either as a base for exploring Lochalsh or as an alternative to staying on Skye.
The property is fairly new and has been very well designed with a real feeling of space, which is our perfect type of luxury. The kitchen and bathrooms are fitted out to a very high standard and the open plan living area with plenty of windows helps connect the beautiful outdoor views whilst inside.
We've holidayed regularly on Skye for years and had expected to use Avernish Lodge as a base for walking on Skye but we easily filled our week with excellent walks within 5-10 miles in Lochalsh.
James, the property owner, provided an excellent service and great communication throughout.
If you're unfamiliar with the area and you're planning a stay between November and March, make sure to check opening times for local cafes and restaurants as some close throughout the winter. There are enough open but you just have to plan a bit in advance to make sure you don't turn up somewhere on a day they are closed or when food isn't being served.

Beautiful spot
Beautiful spot and accommodation at the side of a loch down a quiet lane. The living area and bedrooms have a spectacular view across the loch to a mountainside. The lodge is high quality throughout with a comfy interior, it felt spacious for four people, and good kitchen. It's a great base for visiting Skye, there's a pretty nearby village called Plockton with a pub that has Skye whiskies (I was told they are 'peaty', definitely a distinctive taste), and there is a decent nearby Co-Op for food shopping. Sightseeing tip - don't miss a boat trip to the Isle of Canna, we got a sunny blue sky day and the cliffs and seabirds were a truly amazing sight.

The perfect property.
Avernish Lodge is a wonderful property, a great design and beautifully furnished. The views are spectacular. You won't find a better place to spend a week.

Stunning, gorgeous, high-quality accommodation!
Having stayed in many beautiful rentals throughout France, I have to say that the Avernish Lodge was the most beautiful, highest-quality rental I have ever stayed in. Perfection sums it up! The house is of an extremely high standard and is also immaculate and super quiet. It is just 20-25 minutes from the Isle of Skye. But it is hard to pull oneself away from the stunning view through the gorgeous windows at the house to go anywhere else. The owner, James, was wonderful to work with, very generous and kind with leaving such a thoughtful welcome pack and household supplies to make the stay comfortable. This rental was a dream!!!
