Great location, countless rules, hospitality was not exactly there
The apartment is located in the recently renovated XIX building. One of the very few in the neighborhood that survived WWII bombings. The apartment was very nice, spacious, and clean. To Brandenbourg Gate it takes some 30 minutes to walk. Before we made booking some house rules were mentioned on the Booking website. In reality, when you come, there is a 5-pages document about house rules, IT security, restrictions... You also have to pay for bed sheets, city tax, and to use a washing machine?! If you do not submit forms within 60 minutes that you entered the apartment, the owner will charge you EUR 37? Good luck if you are tired, with small children, jet-lagged... and the first thing is that you have to fill up some forms. Extras you have to pay in cash. We did not receive a receipt for these fees what is strange. It is a service provider's responsibility to provide receipts. Also, it was very frustrating that was not clearly communicated that fees can only be paid in cash so we had to scramble. What was really disappointing, that before checkout, I had to argue with the owner that is not possible that we used the washing machine for 12h within 5 days. The owner was not able to produce any proof for how long the machine was used and how much I have to pay (there is a notice that says you need to pay EUR 3 par 1h of washing machine use). People find fewer rules and more hospitality when they visit the bank after they are late with the mortgage payment. If you rent this place, better have a lawyer and IT security consultant on speed dial to explain to you what all rules mean. The experience was very transactional and cold.

1. all extra fees are shown in the booking information and in the house rules. In addition the guest gets a message with all information (what should be paid in cash) 3 days before arrival. 2. Because of covid regulations we have to check all traveling documents at arrival. So.. giving 60 minutes (to get fist in the apartment and take a short rest) for filling out all forms is even generous. 3. all washing machines and dryers are digitally reported and save each usage. We are any time able to show you this details.

Spacious, comfortable with spectacular location.
Located in an historic building the apartment is large comfortable and easy to live in (it is worth noting that it’s 50 steps up if you’ve got mobility issues) being modern and well appointed. Both shower rooms are fully equipped so having up to six visitors will be a breeze. The bedrooms are large and have plenty of storage and the beds are very comfortable. The balcony that serves the living area and one of the bedrooms is a lovely place to sit out. The location is excellent being 5 minutes walk from Koch Str/Checkpoint Charlie. Access to the rest of the city is quick and easy. (Travel cards are a bargain) Potsdamer Platz and the Gendarmenmarkt are easy 15 minute strolls. Highly recommend 😎

Spectacular and spacious apartment - great location
This apartment is incredible. Location just a short walk from Checkpoint Charlie and U-bahn station. Reasonable walk (~ 1 mile) to Brandenburg Gate. The apartment could count as an attraction itself - fantastic old building with high ceilings and spectacular woodwork, all beautifully restored and maintained. The apartment is very spacious with 3 beds, 2 bathrooms (showers in both) and a lovely little deck. The one caution I would offer is that the owners are very clear that they expect renters to be careful not to damage anything and to abide by quiet hours after 9pm, so maybe not the best place for those who would find these rules to be a burden.

Extra large space-very central location and a great host
The apartment was in an amazing older building, but had all the updates anyone could ask for. Great layout with an outdoor porch seating area, laundry services and very secure building. Three (3) large bedrooms with plenty of storage space. Two large bathrooms (just need to add a shelf inside the shower to store soap/shampoo). Outstanding and simple instructions on how to get into the apartment for the first time. The location is very central to the subway system and Check Point Charlie. Very friendly host and answered all of your questions and gave us some great restaurant tips. Would recommend to any persons that need a larger space to spread out and enjoy

Good Location
The building is in a good location for sightseeing, just a few minutes away from Checkpoint Charlie, transportation and shopping. Just turn right when you leave the buulding and you are three minutes away from public transportation and a wide variety of restaurants and shops in the Checkpoint Charlie area and nicer shops a block or so beyond. A left turn takes you to a lesser area after a block. I’d avoid that area, but it does have a small market. We stayed in an apartment other than the one pictured, a two-bedroom unit. It was elegant, clean, comfortable and quiet, but missing a few amenities, such as a fan, coffee and soap. Perhaps we were to bring our own? Nice televisions and comfortable living room furniture and a cozy balcony overlooking the courtyard. Be prepared to walk four flights of stairs with your luggage. Even without air conditioning, the solid construction of the apartment kept it coolish, but a fan would be helpful at night to avoid keeping the windows open. The historical aspect of the building appealed to us as it was the only building on the block not destroyed in the war. Having a phone in the apartment pre-formatted to call a taxi was very convenient. The manager was very helpful and we felt safe during our stay, thanks in large part to the very heavy iron door leading to the serene inner courtyard. Overall, a modern, clean and comfortable place to hang your hat in Berlin.

Thanks for the detailed review. The apartment is on the 2nd floor. In Germany the ground floor is counted as zero. If soap and coffee are missing, please call us with the provided mobile phone. The apartment is connected to a centralised air conditioning system.

Lovely stay
This apartment was a great base for exploring Berlin. It is beautiful, spacious,and the building has wonderful character. We had every amenity we needed, and extra touches like a well-appointed kitchen. The owner met us with wine & flowers and we had a lovely conversation about Berlin (I hadn’t been there in 35 years). We would definitely stay here again, and look forward to it!

Fabulous apartment and location
This apartment was ideally placed for visiting attractions and close to underground trains. There were also many restaurants and coffee shops nearby to sustain us. The apartment was stunning and very comfortable.There were 5 of us in our group and we felt very safe and there was plenty of room for us. The owners told us about the history of the building. The owners Marion and Nino were very friendly and helpful. I would certainly recommend this as a place to stay in Berlin and would love to return for another visit and to see more of the museums and places of interest.There is so much to take in.

Fantastisk leilighet midt i smørøyet !
Kjempeflott stor leilighet rett ved Checkpoint Charlie , flotte bad fine soverom stor romslig stue og alle fasiliteter på kjøkkenet , pluss en grei terasse , veldig hjelpsomt personale vi hadde det helt supert , anbefales på det varmeste !
