We stayed on the houseboat for 3 nights in Sept. The boat is really nice and tidy, just like on the pictures. The proximity to the center is also very convenient, you can reach any place in the center by foot. The host was also very friendly and helped us quickly with all our issues and questions! Thanks!

We arrived after booking this so called houseboat and on our way we requested a change of boat as my friend had selected the wrong boat, and we were told that Jupiter was not available, not entirely sure this was the case. When we got there no one had called to advise of when they'd be there to open the boat, so we went to the supermarket, collected some supplies. Richard showed up with his 3 young children, opened the boat and they all went down, shoes on, walking across the apparent clean floors, no mask on in this Covid period, so I mentioned this to him and he gave the keys, commented on a few things and left. We then discovered a few things were dirty, tiny limited amount of hand soap, no kitchen spray, no dish washing tablets, dirty floor, dusty and no very clean, fridge was dirty, cutlery dirty, drawers grubby, untidy with plastics bags stuffed in the drawers & cupboards, there was no coffee pods (just tea) which we had to ask for along with more hand soap. There was no feel of extra touches, cleanliness and other issues of the Wi-Fi did not work past the bathroom, plus the TV was not connected so we had to contact Richard and he came back to resolve. One thing that is possibly not clear on the photos but there is NO VIEW! So not sure how they can call it a houseboat as you can’t see any canal unless you go up onto the top of the boat, no views from any of the living area / kitchen, unless you stand up! Very misleading and definitely not what was expected, it's dark, cold (even with 27oC heating turned on), dank, unclean and not a welcoming stay...definitely no bubbly (as in photo) was left for us as a welcome or even milk (or coffee pods). It made me very disappointed for what was my first boat stay, it was not worth the €360 we paid. Also when I asked Richard for a tax invoice, he sent me the booking form I completed with ''Paid...'' hand written across it, no company details, when I questioned this, he was a little curt with his response. I would not recommend unless you want to stay in a dark box with no view of the canals.

Think of Amsterdam and its unique canels. It was our delight to live on Saturnus simply the best way to appreciate its city life from on the water. Under floor heating on board made us feel cosy. Plenty of room for our group (4). The highlight was to go up on deck to fabulous restaurants , markets, cafes. We loved this trip, and would go again.We all enjoyed meeting Richard the owner and on his recomendation we enjoyed a boat cruise around the city.

Had a wonderful say. Always wanted to stay in a houseboat in Amsterdam and everything was perfect. Highly recommended.

We really enjoyed our stay. The Saturnus was central to just about everything. Do wish there had been an iron and some cushions for sitting on deck.

Unkomplizierte Schlüsselübergabe und Abgabe am Schleusenhaus. Lage war mitten in Amsterdam. Geschäfte und nette Lokale in direkter Nähe. Alles in allem, Perfekt. Wir waren 4 Erwachsene Personen, hatten genügend Platz im Hausboot.

Houseboat Saturnus was a fun adventure. The location was great...close to grocery store, friendly pub, and all the sites of Amsterdam. The WiFi signal was strong, there was plenty of space on the houseboat and it was clean. I would have given Houseboat Saturnus an Excellent rating but it did not have the chairs or cushions on deck as shown in the photos. Our times on deck were spent sitting on some very hard and cold metal. The chairs and cushions shown in the photos would have been nice to have. This is more of a recommendation and not a critique: an iron and ironing board would be a great addition. We rent flats and homes on our travels and the houseboat is the first one not to provide these two amenities.

Just back from a couple of nights with friends in the glorious Amsterdam sunshine and we were lucky enough to stay on the Houseboat Saturnus. The boat was clean, tidy and in great order, moored just across the water from a great pub (Cafe De Sluyswacht - also recommended!) not far from the centre (10-15 minutes walk). Portholes aside, it was hard to believe that you were on a boat with no perceivable motion from the water, comfortable beds, perfect electrics and a great shower & toilet....the boat even had wifi! If/when I return to Amsterdam I shall definitely look to stay on the boat again. The owner was a friendly guy too. He checked in on us to make sure we were OK and seemed very eager to make sure our stay was a good one. Book it, you won't regret it!
