Didn't put a date stayed as I've stayed here on many occasions ,sometimes as much as 3 times in a year..including January I might add !! , we absolutely love it..it is quite unique in that it's a private estate with one way in and one way out so no traffic surrounded by woodland and lochs what more could you ask for ?...The cottage itself is brilliant and suits our needs and as I've stated have enjoyed many stays including birthdays with friends even in the depths off winter.
The owners are fantastic and very approachable which is why we come back year after year.

Home from home
Beautiful well equipped cottage in a stunning location. Everything you need and more is provided and the owners do everything thing can to ensure your stay is a good one. Stunning log fire keeps you warm and cosy on those cold & wet days. The large enclosed garden provides a safe place for your dogs to play and the summer house is a wonderful spot to watch the birds or relax with a good book and forget about the world and it’s problems.
I’ve been many times and always had a wonderful relaxing break in the most amazing Scottish countryside. If you ever need a place to restore your mental well-being then pinetree cottage is the place to do that.

Holiday Disappointment
We booked Pinetree Cottage in anticipation of a wonderful holiday spent in a fantastic location with stunning scenery & fantastic walks from the doorstep. Sadly our holiday hopes were dashed the moment we opened the cottage door. We were greeted with an overpowering musty, foisty smell mingled with the odour of dogs. This smell permeated throughout the property most strongly in the 2 bedrooms & shower room. Upon our 1st night staying one of the guests fell through one of the single beds. Fortunately unhurt. The main bedroom didn't have an individual window for ventilation only a patio door. This door needed to be open to allow any fresh air to circulate. However in our opinion this door was a Health & Safety Hazard. Upon opening the patio door there was an immediate drop on the outside to decking about 2ft 6inches below. Any child or person walking straight out of this open door would sustain serious injury, there was no bar across or security lock to prevent anyone exiting this door. The cold water taps in the bathroom on the wash basin & sink had been dripping for some considerable time as there were distinct brown staining. The plastic blind in the bathroom was badly broken & slats smashed. Old foodstuffs left by previous visitors to the property left in the freezer. We enquired as to arrangement for change of bedding on the middle weekend of our 2 week stay. The response was one of total surprise that we should require bedding to be changed. The towels provided although clean were very grey in colour & past their best, bedding was a hotchpotch with odd pillowcases & bleach stains on one of the pillowcases. The state of the mattresses was disgusting & in dire need of replacing. In general the property required a thorough clean & repair / replacement of furniture. All in all a ruined holiday. Interestingly, since we left this property last Friday there are already 3 other reviews stating what a wonderful holiday cottage this is. Not sure how all these have had time to spend any time in this property in the past 5 days.

This review is very upsetting, after your first review, I decided to ask pasted guests to leave a review, which I have never done before. Yes one of the taps do drip from time to time, but it's does get fixed. I did explain about the blind and have ordered a new one. The mattress do get replaced every two years and do have mattress protector on. I was aware there was a bag of ice and peas in the freezer, which I didn't see as a problem. I am just sadden that when I came to welcome you on your second night you didn't tell me how you felt, I would have listened to you and tried to make your stay more enjoyable. You asked for a touch, which there are two rechargeable ones at the property, but I still ordered a new one which arrived the next day.

Just perfect
This is our second visit to this amazing cottage and just love it. We came as parents with two "adult kids" and our border collie . Lots of walks from the doorstep but equally a great place to just chill as everything here that you need.
Emma the owner can organise bike hire too if required and nothing seems to be any bother, you just have to ask.
Coming here just relaxes me to the extent that it's very hard to leave. Cannot praise this place enough. Looking at easter dates already 😊

The perfect 'get away from it all' cottage!
This cottage is absolutely everything you need to get away from it all.
Emma was a delight to book with, lots of communication.
The garden is fantastic (and huge!). We loved that we could let our Westies out to run around safe in the knowledge it was fully enclosed.
The cottage has everything you need for a relaxing stay.
The neighbours are super friendly.
The location is a photographer's paradise.
This was our first stay here, and now that we've found it, we will be back.

Gorgeous Cottage
Absolutely wonderful cottage! The location is perfect, lovely and quite. The cottage is clean and well looked after. Lots of walks and cycle routes on the door step. Will be booking again and recommending to friends :) X

Fantastic cottage in a gorgeous location
We stayed at pine tree cottage with our 1 year old twins and our dog, and it was ideal for all of us. It's a lovely cottage with an enclosed garden, friendly neighbours and a great verandah which is where we spent most of our time. There are beautiful forest walks from the door, which were buggy friendly, and a highlight for me was swimming in the loch, which was very special.
Emma went out of her way to provide all the baby equipment we asked for, and was very friendly and quick to respond.

Amazing Hidden Gem
Most amazing cottage. Surrounded by some of the most scenic walks and bike trails. Bikes supplied for further exploring.
Spent most of the days exploring this amazing area.Evenings spent mostly relaxing out on the patio/decking. Perfect with a class of wine.
You won't be disappointed if you book this cottage, all admedties supplied, clean and tidy. Master on-suite was fabulous. Short distances from callender Town.
Ideal for anyone who just wants to get away and recharge.
I would highly recommend booking this cottage for anyone that wants a Romantic getaway, something adventureous and if you just want to chill. You won't be disappointed.
We were looking when there as weather was great.

Perfection
Lovely cottage well equipped in a great location. Lots of walks for the dogs and facilities in nearby Callander and a bit further in Stirling. Cottage is well equipped with all you could need. An enclosed garden for the dogs and lovely friendly neighbours.

Perfect holiday retreat!
This was our (me, mum and 2 dogs) second stay at Pine Tree Cottage, with our first visit in Sept 2017. I loved the cottage before, but it has a new kitchen and fence which gave it a refreshed feel. It has everything you need! The beds are comfy and power shower to set you up for a day of walking.
The weather was glorious so we spent most of our time in the beautiful garden. It is huge, private, secure (once we blocked the bottom of gate with the wheelie bins too) and soooo peaceful. We watched the many birds flitting around - inc Swallows and Woodpecker - and to our delight we watched the tiny red squirrel go about its day high up in the trees at the back. The friendly neighbour made a good point that it will be well hidden once the trees blossom which is probably why we didn’t spot it during our last visit, but one often also visits a feeder in a garden on the “loop” walk turning right out the cottage. On one evening we lit the woodburner in the summer house as it was chilly.
Once the sun started setting we sat in the warm bright porch looking out for deer in the clearing of the forest - which we saw! A pair and a herd/family of four! They tended to be there early in the morning and about 7:30pm, I did spot one skip across mid afternoon too.
The cottage’s location is perfect too. This visit we bumped into a group of scouts on “our” forest walk from cottage (rarely bump into anyone) which dogs didn’t quite know what to make of them with their giant green rucksacks. Turn left out cottage and cross over to the (cycle) path takes you along the edge of loch Venechar with some fabulous views; we kept dogs on leads on this route as cyclists came whizzing by, but they enjoyed a paddle in the loch to cool down.
Having visited before I found the twisting road easy to drive along - I actually made 30mph at one point! (In Sept I barely made 20mph). You get stunning views along the drive too, so have your passengers on camera duty.
We did most of our touring in Sept (kelpies, Crags, Three Forest Drive), so we relaxed more this visit. We went to Loch Katrine and Loch Lubnaig, with the latter being perfect for a picnic or White Pudding Supper from chippie in Callander (20mins Drive).
We haven’t met Emma (owner), but she is always at the end of the phone which is fab. Looking forward to staying at Pine Tree Cottage again....I can’t believe I got sunburn in Scotland in May!! But even if weather isn’t sunny, there’s so much to do (walking easier in cool) and the cottage is lovely.
M’eh. Back to work tomorrow unfortunately after a wonderful break.
