Wonderful short break away.
The house was beautiful and in a lovely location. Hilary was friendly and welcoming and overall we had a brilliant short break away. I wouldn’t hesitate to book again.

Another successful visit
Our second visit to this lovely place and hopefully not our last. Well equipped and modern , it is very comfortable to return to after a glorious couple of days out in the hills. Great location for walking, cycling and water activities.

A special place
Everything needed for a comfortable stay is included. Our welcome pack and meeting with Hilary when we arrived was informative and very welcome and helped us settle very quickly after a long journey. A good central location for varied walks from the door. Beds are extremely comfortable and rainfall showers make getting up in the morning a pleasure! Our black lab enjoyed the morning walk in the private woods straight across from the property and we enjoyed cooking in the well equipped kitchen. You must visit the farm (10 min walk) and taste the excellent goats milk icecream. All in all a fabulous holiday- we will be back!

Peaceful hideaway
This is a very comfortable and welcoming house, well equipped and recently refurbished. We loved the location near to cycle paths and hills to climb but also great for relaxing, with a couple of spots in the garden set up to sit outside and catch the sun. The owners live next door and are helpful and welcoming. We'll definitely be back!

Perfect
What a beautiful cottage in a beautiful location. Immaculate, the property had everything we needed for our stay and more. The owner, Hilary, was most welcoming. All in the cottage was easy to use and there were even labels on items with top tips, brilliant idea. Only problem we had was coming away. Will certainly return next year.

Compact Annex
The Annex is spotlessly clean and very nicely kitted out however compact downstairs. The bedrooms are more spacious, both with lovely ensuite shower rooms. Outside the property would have benefitted from an enclosed area to offer a bit more privacy when sitting out especially when sitting out at the front seating area. There was a main road very close which is not ideal when you have dogs who like to explore the new environment. There was also a lot going on around the grounds, perhaps a work in progress, again a fence could have hidden all of this. Great walks from the door and a fantastic pub - dog friendly! offering the best woodfired pizzas.... 'The Byre' book before you go if wanting food and the live music is fantastic. Couldn't fault the host. 10 mins drive from Callander and Aberfoyle if you run out of essentials and a Scottish Real Ale shop is worth a visit just before you arrive in Callander.

Superb cottage in a wonderful, woodland setting.
Tigh a' Mhaide is a lovely cottage, exceptionally well-equipped and comfortable, and set in its own extensive woodland. It had everything we needed for our stay and our dog was welcome too. Hilary and Richard were very friendly and helpful. The location is perfect for exploring the Trossachs, with lovely walks from the village itself and a short drive to Callander and Aberfoyle. We are keen hill walkers and Ben Ledi, Ben Venue and Glen Finglas are all close by. We enjoyed eating out at Venachar Lochside and the quirky local pub, The Byre. Achray Farm, a short walk away, sells their own delicious ice cream made from goat's milk. We couldn’t have had a better place to stay and would thoroughly recommend it.

Fantatstic, luxury cottage in a superb spot.
Supremely well equiped accommodation and in a great quiet location. Ideal for forest walks, hill walking and lochs. Friendly owner was very helpful! It's not too far from Callander and Aberfoyle, but it really benefits from the tranquility. Recommended!

Perfect cottage for relaxation and activities
We loved this immaculate cottage Comfortable and amenities 5 star. We were able to relax and enjoy the area. So close to Loch Katrine for a cycle or two and lots of walking areas really close by. Despite the weather being unusually wet, we were able to do a lot of walking as all the local routes lead to Callander or Loch Katrine. Comfortable beds, very cosy and rain showers were great. They welcome dogs and even have a ground floor wet room so that you can wash your pet. Kitchen perfectly stocked for home made meals. Hilary, Richard and Pip were so welcoming and left us a little basket of local treats. We will return for sure and have already spread the word.

Lovely cottage, perfect setting.
Lovely cottage, perfect setting. Quiet and peaceful, surrounded by woodlands and with a river nearby. Inside the cottage everything was perfect too.
