There is nothing about this place, these people, and the whole experience that I didn't love from the very start. Sisters Constanza and Serena run this magnificent ancestral estate beautifully. History, art, architecture, agriculture- this place is rich in all these. The ladies were very communicative from the start, offering their cooking class, group dinners, and a variety of fantastic tours around Tuscany and in Florence. The villa is situated in the small town of Sesto Fiorentino, which has many shops and restaurants, and is a 12 minute train ride to central Florence. We have two teens and had a 2 bedroom apartment. It had the original floors and ceilings, doors, hardware, etc. yet was very comfortable with all the modern conveniences. The beds were comfortable, AC worked great, quiet, and we also cooked breakfast every day with eggs provided by the villa's chickens and ducks. Pick organic fruits, veg, and herbs to create your own meals if you like. We did the cooking class, which includes a tour of the main house, where their parents still live, and along with other guests, prepared the most amazing 5+ course meal. The grounds are beautiful with many plants, old trees, flowers, and the ladies are very knowledgeable about everything at the estate including farming. Relaxing pool, laundry facilities, free secure parking. Very private, controlled access, fully walled/fenced. Best of all, they have their own red wine and olive oil- both fantastic! Stay here- it will be a highlight of your trip to Italy!
