Irsina, a little known town in a little known region. A remnant of the time when Basilicata was the centre of the world, when Frederico II, stupor mundi, wonder of the world, Holy Roman Emperor made the region his capital. Site of famous battles when one world, one power saw off another. The old Palazzo, the Cathedral, a myriad of little churches, the metres thick town walls all tell of the town's once illustrious past. Now its myriad of tiny streets that wind through its quarters and squares tell of an era when every room housed a family and filled the air with the din of everyday life.
