Lovely, well equipped, spacious, breezy apartment
This was my fourth time in Puerto Morelos. How could I not have known about Casa de los Viajeros (CLV)? We stayed in Apartment 2. It is a spacious, light-filled, lovely apartment. This used to be the owner's home before they moved upstairs, so everything is laid out for a very comfortable vacation. My adult son was comfortable in the loft bedroom, and with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, the space was perfect for us. The kitchen (in fact the whole apartment) is extremely well equipped, has everything you need even for a longer stay. And it is spotless. We spent hours enjoying the light and the breeze after a long days at the ocean (two blocks away) in the living areas both inside and on the very expansive covered patio. We were there in January, and did not miss air conditioning.
It is a 10 minute walk to the plaza or dinner in town . In fact it is very close to a couple of the best restaurants in PM. The location is perfect! Five minutes walk to a fruit store, to a hair salon, to fresh tortillas, to amazing pizza and of course the beach! Yet, it is in a quiet location. Trucks rumble by during the day because of new buildings coming up north of here. A collectivo (small van) stops right outside every 20 minutes, for trips around PM and to the town on the highway. You will not need a car! In fact if you are traveling light, you can go directly and very cheaply from CLV to the ADO bus to the airport.
And then there are Rob and Joanne - hospitable, knowledgeable, witty and very responsive hosts. No request or question is too much. They are long time residents and key members of the community, so you get local, up-to-date community knowledge and tips. Invaluable!
Other guests we talked to are long-time returnees who would not stay anywhere else. I could see why! We look forward to being back.
