Wonderful Stay
Fantastic place to stay,fantastic hosts....pretty much faultless.
Church Stretton and surrounding areas are absolutely stunning.
While the accomodation reminded me abit of my scandinavian holidays,well equiped,cosy,modern and romantic.
While the owner/s were wonderfully helpful and very welcoming.
Thank you so much....we will be back.

A Gorgeous Getaway!
We found The Larches on www.holidaylettings.co.uk when looking for a New Year's Eve getaway. I contacted Sara, the owner, via email and the response was really prompt. Communication was quick and easy and I was able to pay through electronic bank transfer to book the log cabin; it was very simple and minimum hassle. The price was also very reasonable, especially considering it was peak time.
As we were staying on New Year's Eve, Sara emailed us a range of places we could go to to celebrate 2012 which was very helpful and kind. Church Stretton is a lovely little village with many unique, independent shops but also a larger supermarket, BP garage and train station. We found that it had everything that we needed. There are also some lovely pubs and places to eat; we had a lovely Chinese meal.
The log cabin is on a private road and the owner reminded us of the road to find. The road is quiet and peaceful and the log cabin is set uphill with lovely views over Church Stretton; particularly lovely to see the fireworks from. There is parking for two cars and there is also a private walkway to the log cabin.
The log cabin itself is beautiful. We were showed around by Sara, who was very friendly and welcoming, and greeted with a lovely chilled bottle of wine. We felt that the log cabin has been very thoughtfully arranged. The bed is huge and very comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped with top of the range appliances and utensils. There are some lovely extra touches such as a Smeg fridge and touch sensitive cooker. The shower was hot and powerful. Although we didn’t have the weather, the balcony has lovely views of Church Stretton and ambient lighting which was another lovely touch; I imagine it would be fantastic in the summer months.
The log cabin is about a 10 minute walk into the hub of Church Stretton. We also went to Ludlow which was about 20 minutes away in the car which is a beautiful market town with lovely pubs and shops. There are many walking routes nearby and train station is within a 5 minute walk which is also handy although we did not make use of it; the log cabin was too nice to leave! We had a fantastic New Year here, we would definitely visit again and we would highly recommend a trip.

Gorgeous accomodation in a beautiful setting
The Larches provided high quality accomodation in a beautiful setting. We were greeted by the owner in a very friendly manner and felt at home immediately. Perfect for those wanting a quiet relaxing break and also for those wanting to explore the beautiful countryside.
Highly recommend The Larches and we will definately be visiting again!

Very relaxing and peaceful, can't wait to go again!
The Larches was a lovely little cabin perfect for a small getaway with beautiful surroundings.
Everything you needed and more was provided in the cabin and the views of the trees and hills from the balcony and windows were amazing, no photos do this place an justice!
I would definitely recommend this cabin to friends and family and can't wait to visit it again!

A beautiful getaway
The larches is a beautiful little cabin, a great get away for a short weekend away or even a week. Its set in a beautiful village, with amazing views surrounding. When we first arrived the owner was very friendly and we felt at ease straight away. Everything in the cabin is well organized, clean and had everything we could need. I would and have recommenced it to friends and will hopefully be visiting again.

Cosy getaway, great location
We stayed in the Larches log cabin for a relaxing break and wasn't disappointed. The log cabin is well equipped with everything you need and the location is just a 10-minute walk to the town centre with interesting shops and a good choice of restaurants/food shops. It is also close enough to take in the surrounding countryside which is really beautiful and we hope to be able to come back during the summer months to appreciate the area to its full. We would have no hesitation recommending this holiday rental to anyone for a great home from home and intend visiting again in the not-too-distant future!

A fabulous 40th birthday relaxing getaway
A delightful log cabin set in beautiful surroundings with fantastic views. Very well equipped with everything you needed. The owners are very friendly and made us feel at home immediately. Perfect for those wanting a quiet relaxing break and also for those wanting to explore the beautiful countryside. Ideally situated easy walking distance into town and the train station. welcome home R and R
An idilic, perfect 3 night stay after collecting my boyfriend from Brize Norton (he was home for 2 weeks R and R after 5 months away on tour with the Army). His flight had been delayed and after feeling like i'd spent most of the day driving we were greeted by the lovely Sara and shown to the cosy welcoming cabin. It was everything i expected and more from the pictures and other reviews i had read. Every last detail has been thought of and Sara is obviously a customer service expert because not only was it exactly as described you cant help but feel instantly at home but also like you have privacy.
We left feeling like we could have done with staying longer so i'm sure we'll be back :-) xxx

Perfect weekend away
We have just arrived back in London after a truly relaxing break in the Shropshire Hills. The pictures on the site really don't do the cabin justice as Sara (the owner) has made the place into a true 5 star getaway. The cabin provides you with everything you need for a self catering retreat, and is perfectly situated within the grounds of their beautiful home with fantastic views of the quiet countryside village (just 10mins walk away) and the rolling hills beyond. I would definitely recommend the Butcher & Grill night at the Station Inn on the Friday followed by a mouthwatering Sunday lunch at the Ragleth in Little Stretton (an easy 15min bike ride away). Sara made us feel at home straight away and the bikes that are available are in top nick too! One piece of advice I would pass on would be if you're planning to take a taxi anywhere, book a good hour in advance, as local companies (just the two of them!) will only have one vehicle running on a Friday night! We would come back in a heartbeat. Thank you Sara

A five star retreat.....
What a wonderful week at the perfect retreat of The Larches. This is the one of the best holiday accomodation bookings we have made from Holiday Lettings. After a week leading a school ski trip with 39 children The Larches was a real treat and the tonic we needed. Being exhausted the comfortable and massive bed certainly helped me catch up with some well earned rest and lie ins. The Larches is so well equipted Sara has thought of everything from china tea cups to a welcome bottle of wine. The facilities are spot on if you want to eat in there is very single utensil that you need! If you want to eat out there is a wide range of superb eating establishments in Church Stretton and the local area. Sara provided us with loads of useful recommendations many of which we sampled. The location is also wonderful great to walk into Church Stretton or walk in the surrounding area straight from the door. We hardly used the car. The proximity to the train station means you can so easily get to Ludlow and Shrewsbury both of which we would highly recommend. By being next to the owners home is it was great to know that Don and Margaret (Sara's in laws) were on hand if we needed them or on the end of a phone if we had a problem. They certainly had a busy week house sitting for Sara and caretaking for us......do you hire them out? We will almost certainly be back, we love the area, the views and the peace and quiet. Thank you Sara and Don and Margaret for making our six nights so comfortable and enjoyable.
