Interaction avec les clients: Torbreck Croft sits peacefully back off the single track B869 road down it's own good track. The B869 is on the Drumbeg loop of the NC500.
There is lots to do! Visit the wonderful unspoilt white sandy beaches nearby. Achmelvich (2 miles), Clachtoll (4.5 miles) & Clashnessie (6.5 miles) are the closest but with some exploring you can find many more secluded gems. Travel a little further to Oldeshoremore and Sandwood Bay, both within an hours drive, or up to Balnakeil at Durness.
Walk along the coast or across the hills and moors, the choice of routes is endless and wherever you go there are stunning views of Assynt and you may not see another person all day. From the cottage, you can walk for miles across the croft and beyond.
A fabulous holiday home perfectly located for the wide range of activities Assynt has to offer. Torbreck Croft was spacious, very well equipped, warm and spotlessly clean. It had a lovely homely feel, with many of the features and furniture of the original building, built c120 years ago. Family photos across the generations, family artwork and objects gave a warm, welcoming feel, allowing us to imagine the Croft as a working building for the family.
Teresa provided very clear instructions, great advice on local activities / restaurants and responded to messages extremely quickly.
We had a lovely week in this charming house, would highly recommend it other visitors and would love to return soon.

Wonderful Week!
Really comfortable house in a beautiful setting, perfect for our family. Everything we needed for a week away from London life, amazing walk from the door to the stunning Manse Loch for picnic and swimming. Great boat trip with North Coast Sea Tours, lots of stunning beaches to explore, delicious pies from the butcher, a trip to the Bone Caves and fascinating pottery visits both to Fergus Stewart and Highland Stoneware. A really lovely week. Thanks for having us!

Great location and place to stay
Great place to stay - old croft retaining that ‘feel’ while having all the services we needed inside. Easy access, handy for Lochinver (and anywhere else we want to go), plenty space for us (using two of the available 3 bedrooms)

Perfect cottage in a perfect location
Our stay at Torbreck Croft was perfect. The cottage had everything we needed, was comfortable, spotlessly clean and in an idyllic location.
We had a wonderful holiday and hope to return.

Perfect holiday cottage
This is a lovely homely cottage with everything provided for a comfortable stay whether a couple or a family..We also loved the location with only 2 miles to the beach and less than that to Lochinver itself.All in all one week here wasn't quite enough and would certainly love to stay here again next time.

Great spot, well equipped, quiet.
House is 1 mile from Lochinver and well positioned for exploring area.
Really nice place in picturesque spot with red deer in front garden every evening!
Highly recommend.

Torbrek Lockdown Escape
This was our fifth visit to Torbrek Croft Cottage. We normally visit at Whitsun so this was a much later break than we have done before. The weather wasn’t quite as good as in late May but it wasn’t too bad either. There were more midges but we did manage to have lunch outside once. The cottage had been made Covid safe so there were fewer bits and pieces around, but that did not detract from what is our favourite holiday cottage in the U.K, comfortable, homely and very well equipped. There were new very comfortable beds this year, but everything else was as before, which is why we keep coming back. Hillary was welcoming as always and Flora the dog still pops over to say hello but is now an old lady so does not accompany us up the hill behind the house. Lochinver was also Covid safe, which meant a lot of places were either closed, serving outside or restricted numbers. The pie shop had moved outdoors and has bought the Caberfeidth pub, which was closed. The village was quite busy with NC500 travellers, many of whom had brought their camper vans to Scotland for a staycation rather than taking them to Europe. We spent time at the beautiful Achmelvich Beach, walking along the coast and having superb fish, chips and haggis from the campsite takeaway. The boys and I also attempted to climb Ben More Assynt, but were defeated by rain and very poor visibility.
While things were unavoidably different this year, we count ourselves lucky to have been able to spend another week in our Scottish bolthole between lockdowns. It remains our favourite cottage and one of our favourite places in the U.K. We will definitely be back!

Highly recommended
We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely house in a beautiful part of the country. The old crofthouse has been tastefully and thoughtfully modernised while still retaining its character, and a very strong sense of the family and community it belongs to. It is very well equipped and has an open log fire in the living room and wood burning stove in the kitchen, for which there is a plentiful supply of logs. There were just two of us but the house would easily accommodate a family, or up to six people. Highly recommended.

Lovely cottage & great location - just a couple of niggles
In a year affected by Covid-19, we finally got our trip to Torbreck Croft a few months late!
Teresa's instructions to find the cottage were spot on and on arrival we found a very comfortable & well equipped cottage which was very clean & in a lovely secluded spot but just a very short hop into Lochinver.
The area is fantastic and I'll leave the readers to do their own research on what to do, but the cottage itself is in a lovely setting and a walk through the gate and down to the lochin is lovely first thing in the morning - and in the evenings we were visited by deer most days - something our dog found to be totally fascinating while watching from the window!
The cottage has a great size double room, and two twin rooms & two shower/toilet rooms - a well equipped kitchen - a comfortable lounge - and a seated area in the porch which we used for breakfast each morning.
Beds were comfy & the kitchen & upstairs shower room look to have been recently refitted.
One blot of the copy book though - it was a shame that the upstairs shower had a fault with the temperature control and was scalding hot as a result. We reported to one of the owners and they were already aware of the fault - bit of a shame that they didn't warn us of this, one of our party got badly scalded in there & I shudder to think what might have happened if a child used it....
We did ask if the shower could be fixed but alas that didn't happen during our stay, so we had to share the downstairs shower room which is a little dated & had a much smaller cubicle.
Also the freezer is located in an outside shed and is quite small. The fridge doesn't have an ice box so best not to take food in expecting to freeze it while there.
These niggles aside, it was a lovely stay - the weather was good & no midges about to speak of, so we all enjoyed our time & would return.

Thank you for your review, I'm glad that you enjoyed your holiday regardless of the issue with the shower. Apologies, our temporary fix clearly didn't work so I am pleased to say that the shower has now been replaced. We also plan to fit a full size freezer before next season.

Restful, peaceful, idyllic setting
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Torbreck. The cottage was well equipped with everything you need for a comfortable break. It is ideally situated to explore this stunningly beautiful area of Scotland. We did so many wonderful things, including walking to prehistoric bone caves at Inchnadamph, Iron Age Broch at Clachtoll, scenery at Kylesku, Achiltibuie, saw dolphins off Ullapool during a boat trip and many many more things. Loved our time here and would definitely recommend.
