My wife, who is a wheelchair-user, and I stayed in this room for 2 months from 12 Jan to 12 March. The owner and his Thai partner could not have been more helpful. They took us to a home-improvement store the day after we arrived, and asked my wife what aids would suit her best for the bathroom area. (shower stool, grab-rails etc) and upon our return to the villa, immediately set about installing the equipment. The large enclosed shower cubicle has a sliding door with a lip to step over. My wife, who suffers from osteo-arthritis of the lower spine, had no problem transferring from her wheelchair onto the sturdy shower-stool, closing the door behind, and tending to herself. Only if one suffered from a severe disability such as, might I suggest, quadriplegia, would this property be unsuitable.
We had our own keys to the external door and the room, which meant that we were able to come and go as we wished. Immediately outside our room was a place where we could relax under a fan, and the private pool surrounded by a walled garden area. I should point out at this stage that the owner and his wife, who occupy the remainder of the villa, also have direct access to the pool (although I was the only person using it for almost 100% of the time of our occupancy) and also direct access from their own private part of their villa to their own outside dining area. We did not find this to be an intrusion into our privacy, or indeed vice versa, since they are charming people who we came to know as friends very easily. Also, they were a welcome, ready source of information on the local area.
As has been described by the owner, this is a very peaceful private room, but at the same time, is within walking distance of bars, restaurants and of course, the beach. The property is within a gated (security-controlled) estate of many other villas.
If you require a different property, the owner has 2 condominiums available to rent at a nearby location.
If you would like any further details on this room, or indeed any related issue, please feel free to PM me.
