It's a very old property, and the photo history was interesting, but it needs a great deal of work. There's a new dock, but the slip between the dock and the boathouse is too narrow for even a small skiff. The only place to tie up a boat, the water was only 18" deep, unmarked rocks made it hazardous for our small rental... had to paddle in with the motor raised. The boathouse has been wrecked by winter ice and pushed off its foundation. The grounds were littered with decaying boats, toys, brush and wood piles. The cottage itself was very dark even with all windows and blinds open, smelled overwhelmingly of deodorizers and disinfectant BUT was not clean. The bed linens were full of sand and grit, i suspect unchanged. Disgusting! And no linens at all for 3 beds. The floors were covered in dirt and sand as well, had to be swept the first hour. The floors have all sagged and sloped in all directions, I had to level the beds with blocks. Dangerous for elderly or disabled. The tub was sloped the wrong way and wouldn't drain, and it couldn't be dried, because the faucet ran continually, water collected behind the toilet making it all a bed for bacteria and bugs. We had a bit of rain one night, and the next 2 nights we were swarmed with mosquitoes. They were from inside, not from the outside... we sprayed and slept with burning bug coils, citrus candles and fans on high speed for 2 nights. General neglect and disrepair was obvious, our worst rental in Muskoka . We left early feeling duped and disappointed.
