We have been blessed to stay in many wonderful lodgings throughout the US and Canada. This one ranks right up there in our top three. The house is beautiful, clean, and just as pictured. But the property is the show-stopper - it is spectacular. We enjoyed the direct access to the beach (where we found several pieces of sea glass) and using the kayaks. With a family of four, I was glad to see that one of the kayaks was a double, so our entire family could go kayaking together. If you are even thinking about this property, you should book it. You will not be disappointed.

I can’t say enough about this beauty on Cape Breton Island, the views, the property is stunning. It is so quiet and peaceful, our only regret we didn’t stay longer! Lori was always available to answer questions, she was wonderful to deal with. The cottage has everything you could possibly need. Our daughter and grandchildren, 2 & 5, joined us part way through the week. Our private beach was perfect for them. The lake is wonderful to kayak on, there are 3 kayaks available and life jackets of all sizes. To sit on the deck at night with accent lights throughout the grounds on the property, hearing the call of the loons, it couldn’t get any better. Having a sauna was an extra bonus, nice to warm up after a swim. We will definitely be back, we have travelled a lot and rented homes, this one is one of our favourites by far. I can’t imagine anyone not enjoying themselves, it was hard to leave.

We stayed here for a week with our 4 year old and 1 year old. The cottage was absolutely wonderful with beautiful views of the ocean and every convenience you can imagine. Our kiddos loved searching the beach for sea glass and driftwood. They found lots of little treasures and were fascinated by the way the tide changed each day. The cottage had so many conveniences that we didn’t expect but appreciated so much - all the dishes and cookware you could possibly need, charging stations in each room, tons of books and movies, board games, and Netflix - which was great for movie nights with our 4 year old. Lori was wonderful to deal with, sending us messages to check in and make sure we had everything we needed. Anytime we messaged her with a question, she responded quickly. We highly recommend this little slice of heaven in Cape Breton!

This is a lovely property , 2 km on an unpaved road, 25 minutes from Port Hawkesbury, where there is Sobeys and a Superstore. It has a full well equipped kitchen and very good wifi, cellular coverage unreliable, like most rural areas. We enjoyed visiting Isle Madame, which is very close. It’s over an hour from Baddeck.

This is a comfortable, serene, private retreat. It is well stocked with the basics (lots, dishes, salt, flour, etc). Beds are comfy. We had a minor concern which was easily resolved through contact with the property manager who was very helpful and responsive. Didn’t use outside amenities (very cold, winter) or sauna. We would not hesitate to return.

The property was beautiful, very well stocked and had everything we needed, the hosts were very responsive to any questions we had, they obviously put a lot of thought into the rental, as it literally has everything you need.. We are already looking at booking again.. It was also very clean

This property was very clean and the view was amazing. It is surrounded by trees and beautiful gardens and the only thing you could hear were the birds. Everything you need plus more is provided for your stay. I highly recommend this property.

My husband and I loved every minute of our eight night stay. The house and property are beautiful and just like the pictures! Privacy is definitely an asset along with the private beach! Most activities we did - biked the Ceilidh Trail, Golfed, Hiked and walked beaches - were 30 minutes drive in difference directions which we didn’t mind at all! Gave us a peaceful drive taking in the scenery! Would definitely rent again!

We booked our first stay at this beautiful summer home for just two nights. We decided to book our second stay longer and we were able to book it for 6 nights. Although we didn't need three bedrooms because it was only my husband and I staying there, we had been there before, and we knew we would love every minute of it. You couldn't ask for a better host. Lori looks after her guests very well. She is easily contacted, and responds quickly to any questions you may have. Surrounded by natural beauty, and everything you possibly need, we highly recommend this beautiful summer "home away from home" for your next little getaway to relax and unwind. It's so quiet, serene, and absolutely beautiful. If you go, you will be really glad you did.
