Overall, this was a great place to spend 4 nights with our two young boys (ages 5.5 and 2.5). Nathalie was very responsive to all of our questions from the beginning. Unfortunately, they were not able to accommodate us getting in even a tad bit earlier than the 4p check in despite us asking if that was possible to help with naps. There was also no flexibility with check out time, though we totally understood that. We accidentally left something at the home after checking out and the person who was on site cleaning after we checked out was so kind to find us at the beach and deliver it to us before we left town.
The home was as advertised, not huge spaces but well utilized and appointed and very pleasant. Everything seemed clean, though we did notice a mouse problem with droppings in the kitchen sink, on the counter and on the keurig platform in the mornings (the kitchen was completely cleaned before bed without food being out), and heard them at night. Not unexpected in a home in the woods, but a little unnerving. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking and grilling. The one thing that would have been nice is to have some coffee pods provided for guests to use with the keurig. However, we did very much appreciate the nice touch of leaving toothbrushes, toothpaste and soaps in each bedroom!
The best thing was the proximity to two lovely little beaches that were just perfect for the little guys. Not crowded and the few local people who we met there were extremely friendly. Both beaches were easy to walk to, and there were beach chairs at the house for use. There were picnic tables at the beaches and paper plates at the house making for easy packed lunches with kids.
The location otherwise was quite remote with not too much around. The restaurants in the lovely nearby town of Wolfeboro were unfortunately hugely understaffed and not taking walk-ins or take out orders, or had over an hour waits, on most nights, including week nights, which made dinners with kids challenging. However, there was plenty of delicious ice cream to save the day, and the town is beautiful to walk around! We also did Storyland one day, which was an easy hour drive.
Thanks for a great stay overall!
