My family and I had a wonderful time staying at the Hector Cottage. This was my third time renting in the Finger Lakes region, and this cottage was by far my favorite! The location is perfect, walking distance from Hector Winery and a 5 minute drive to a dozen other wineries and breweries. I can definitely recommend Two Goats Brewery which was open late and had great live music the weekend we were there. At night when the wineries are closed, we could see fireworks from the villages across the lake while drinking wine by the cozy firepit on the back deck. Added bonus was being close to both the Finger Lakes National Forest and Watkins Glen for some weekend day hikes. Even though there was a beautiful view of the rolling vineyards (and the lake from the second story bedroom!), there was also the convenience of having a mini market down the street which had gas and basic groceries/supplies like charcoal for the grill. This rental had so many thoughtful touches: frosted beer mugs, a complimentary bottle of wine, and window AC units which did a great job of keeping the cottage cool in the 100+ degree heat we had the first day of our trip. This is such a special cottage, and I will not hesitate to book again in the future!
