Cabin looked ideal in listing pictures. Upon arrival we noticed some issues and tried to contact management right away but communication was made difficult by lack of cell service. There is a landline in the cabin but the phone number was nowhere to be found. That was the first priority—getting the number in case I needed to be reached in an emergency. The other issues included fresh mouse droppings by the dining table and unclean bed linens. About 20 minutes after our arrival the smoke detector malfunctioned and was beeping twice per minute. Management assured me the issue of “rodent infestation” (their words, not mine) would be rectified AFTER my departure. Umm, gee thanks.
The cabin is located in what should be an ideal location—close to Main Street in Phoenicia and located on a secluded dead-end road. However, there is some sort of strange retreat center at the end of the road and buses came roaring down in the middle of the night scaring me awake as the the lights blared in the window. The cabin is right on a creek but also directly on the road. Keep this in mind when booking. Management apologized for the issues and also asked if there was anything they could do to rectify the situation for me. I asked for a refund of the cleaning fees since the cabin was not clean upon mu arrival. I never heard a word back.

Cute little cabin with moat all of the luxury amen...
Cute little cabin with moat all of the luxury amenities you would want. Located on a small creek, having a beer on the patio was blissful! Cute town, some good eats. Fabulous hiking and fishing nearby. Will be back!

What an awesome log cabin. The pictures do not do it justice. First of all, it was spotless. Props to the cleaning crew. The cabin has some modern touches but it still retained it's rustic charm. Beds were comfy (we'd prefer Q/Q instead of D/Q). Appliances were new as well as cookware and china. Location is secluded but close enough to Main Street Phoenicia and route 28. Home Sweet Hudson made it incredibly easy. Their little touches to the home were perfect.
Now the best part...incredible views of the creek both inside and out. Back of cabin has tons of windows and house is situated very close to creek. Even though it was cold outside
I could still sit inside with my coffee or play my guitar (great acoustics inside BTW) and it would still feel as though I was outside.
We had very minor issues; bed sizes, kitchen needs a little more lighting and logs for fireplace were too fresh and didn't burn well. Other than that we'd love to visit again during warmer months.

This is the spot. Cozy, private, clean and beautiful property perfectly situated along the creek.
Furnishings and decor are thoughtful. Everything was as described.
This location was perfect for a getaway, can't wait to return.

A group of 3 of us and our Golden Retriever spent ...
A group of 3 of us and our Golden Retriever spent the best long holiday weekend at this cabin. The house is gorgeous and perfect for a small group. The fire place, furniture and overall atmosphere made for a cozy weekend while being only 30 minutes from any of the surrounding towns of Woodstock or Kingston. Right down the street from the Woodstock Brewery and Phoenicia Diner made the remoteness of the cabin great but nice to be close enough to some wonderful food and drink when you wanted a fun activity. Overall 10/10 recommended.

House was fabulous and had everything we needed for a wonderful stay. Gave a feeling of privacy but close to the things we wanted to do. If go back to Catskills we will 100% stay here again!!
