We loved our stay at beautiful Sandy Cove. The house was clean and comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. We loved sitting on the dock and using the kayak.

We travelled from Manitoba to enjoy the fall colours and some seafood. Sandy Cove Cottage could not have been more perfect. Located on an acreage and directly at the seashore, it offers privacy, solitude and is perfectly situated for day trips to Mahone Bay (shopping, restaurants), Lunenburg (much more shopping and a maritime museum + the Bluenose II), Digby (did someone say "scallops"?), Peggy's Cove (lighthouse) and Halifax (Titanic museum). There is so much to see and do in the area, our one week was far too short. The cottage is beautifully appointed with all the amenities for a self-contained stay. The kitchen was well equipped and everything works. What other rental includes fabric softened sheets in the laundry? And the beds are super comfortable. Communications with Jane, the owner, were like with family (the kind you get along with). I know a review is supposed to contain both positive and negative for balance. Well, ok, there isn't a stick of new furniture in the place. It's all old stuff. Old antique tables, old antique chests, old antique lamps, old antique armoires, old antique rocking chairs. Knotty pine paneling everywhere. I want to go again - soon and longer. If you are looking for nightlife, excitement and a light show, wait 'til you see the stars.

We thoroughly enjoyed this charming cottage with its modern amenities and unique Maritime decor. Added bonuses included a spacious floating dock fitted with Adirondack chairs and swimmers ladder, lovely waterfront views of Sandy Cove and complete privacy afforded by the grassy hillside that belongs to the property.. Also, we greatly enjoyed the owner’s tandem kayak that took us up and down the cove and out onto scenic Mahone Bay.

Quiet, peaceful, well kept property. All amenities. Nice views from cottage over the water or sitting on the wharf. One unexpected perk was air conditioning if needed! Excellent communication with managers.

This charming and well-appointed cottage is in a lovely and secluded location. We enjoyed glorious views of the cove and surroundings. Our host, Jane, thoughtfully prepared us for accessing the cottage, the beautiful dock and the kayak. The cottage boasts old world charm along with modern conveniences . The property is an absolute gem.. I was lucky to watch the leaves turn bright reds and yellows as fall settled in over my stay. Jane, Kathy and neighbour Jim made my two weeks so easy and wonderful. I wished that the kayaks and dock (float) were still out but I understood that they had already been put away for the season. Maybe clarify that before you book if it matters to you as I know the hosts will accommodate anything they can! I enjoyed Spectacular sunsets on a little beach close by and wonderful mornings spent having coffee on the porch. I did yoga down on the dock and loved waking up feeling like I was in a tree house as the main bedroom is surrounded by windows. Very inspiring place. I honestly can’t adequately describe the beauty of this property, but you won’t be disappointed to stay here!! The cabin is simple, cozy, clean and charming. Shower was hot, beds were nice, and communication was great. Thank you for having me!

This is a lovely property that boasts a private beach and dock. If you enjoy your privacy, this is the place for you! The beds are super comfortable and the view from the “window” room is lovely and relaxing. Lots of good places to eat and boutique shopping in the nearby towns of Chester & Mahone Bay. Hoping to return next year.

We loved it. The cottage is very comfortable & cozy. Shopping & dining is nearby in Chester. We could not have asked for better.

Wildlife galore including deer, chipmunks, ospreys, ducks, heron, kingfisher, shrimp, minnows and a fearless mink who scampered down the dock with 4 noisy people sitting there. Kathy and Jane are always wonderful hosts and sources of info. Only 1 rainy day in a two week visit. Warm dry weather should help with the pesky Nova Scotia provincial bird, aka the mosquito. :>)
