Built in the 1890's the house is set on a prominent corner plot and is walking distance from the award winning beach and town centre and just ½ mile from Old Hunstanton. There is easy access to Thornham, Brancaster and Burnham Market. Hunstanton (Sunny Hunny!) is a popular and charming Victorian seaside town with miles of beautiful beach, striking red and white striped cliffs and stunning sunsets. It is situated at the western end of the renowned North Norfolk Coast with its countless beaches, walks, sailing facilities and golf courses. Basing yourself in Hunstanton ensures all passions and interests are satisfied with things to do for all ages. The area offers wonderful holidays at any time of the year. With the Duke & Duchess of Cambridge holidaying at the beautiful Amner Hall, under 10 miles away on the Sandringham Estate, there are now further royal connections to Norfolk and you will be in excellent company if you choose to take your holidays here. The property is set over 3 floors and offers comfortable living accommodation for 11 people plus children/babies, suiting families and groups for holidays, short breaks and weekends away. On the ground floor there is an entrance lobby with space for boots and coats, spacious reception hall with sofa, lounge with three sofas and an open fire, kitchen and dining room that seats 12. Upstairs you will find five bedrooms, three of which have en-suite shower rooms. The family bathroom has a stand alone, powerful Mira shower and bath. All rooms are equipped with a 4K Smart TV with Google Assist, hairdryer and radio alarm clock. Three of the bedrooms have ipod docks. On the first floor you will find 2 double bedrooms and a family bedroom (one double and a single) all with en-suite shower rooms. One of the doubles has a balcony. On the second floor there is a double (with cot) and a twin that share a family bathroom which has a bath, separate shower cubicle, wc and sink. All double beds have comfortable Therapur mattresses and the singles popular and comfortable Mumsnet mattresses. Towels and linen are provided but please provide your own bedding for the cot bed and travel cots. Beach towels are not provided. The house is full of things to make this a real home from home. Sky TV (inc Sky Sports), Netflix,2 ipod docks downstairs, a selection of books, Wii, DVD player and over 100 DVDs for young and old alike. There are board games, puzzles and a toys and books for our younger guests. Free WiFi is provided. The house is well equipped for families with two high chairs, a booster seat, a Mamas & Papas umbrella buggy, Kiddyguard retractable stair gates, microwave sterilizer, plastic crockery and cutlery, 2 baby monitors, baby bath, toddler step, change mat, potty, toddler toilet seat and a bed guard. There are two travel cots and a full size cot (please bring your own cot bedding). With a large kitchen and dining room seating 12, groups of friends or families will find the house a great place for entertaining. The kitchen is well equipped with the added benefits of dishwasher, microwave, coffee machine, juicer, food processor, hand blender and smoothie maker. There is a breakfast bar and small table and chairs. There is an extra large fridge freezer and an additional fridge freezer in the outhouse utility, close to the kitchen, along with a washing machine, tumble dryer, ironing board and iron. The dining room is light and airy with wooden floor and dining table that extends to seat 12 people. There is a music system and speakers making it an ideal space for entertaining. In the double aspect lounge you will find an open fire, 3 sofas, Sky TV (inc Sky Sports), Netflix, DVD player and over 100 DVDs, ipod dock, Wii (plus games). There are board games, puzzles and a few toys and books for our younger guests. Free WiFi is provided. Outside, there is a small enclosed garden and off street parking for 2-3 cars. Additional parking is available on the road (unrestricted). An outdoor table and chairs is provided for al fresco dining along with a BBQ and a rotary airer. A small decked courtyard is available at the back of the property, off the kitchen. You are spoilt for choice with the local beaches, many award winning and stunning. The town has a variety of shops, promenade, beach, restaurants, pubs and theatre. There is plenty to do including tennis courts, croquet lawns, amusements, bowling greens, windsurfing and an 18-hole golf course. There is a Sea Life Centre and The Oasis Sports Centre with indoor swimming pool, two squash courts, winter indoor bowling and the funcastle soft-play. There is fantastic local walking passing through the Norfolk Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with the Peddars Way and Norfolk Coast Path running from Hunstanton continuing along the coast to Cromer. The area is also popular with cyclists with Norfolk having a variety of cycle routes including the Peddar's Way and the 59 mile Norfolk Coast cycleway from King's Lynn to Cromer. Hunstanton offers a great base for local fishing and the ideal local beach conditions brings in the water sports enthusiasts with water skiing, canoeing, kite surfing, parasailing and wind surfing being very popular. Bird watching is very popular with Norfolk being a top bird watching area, the North Norfolk coast between Hunstanton and Blakeney is particularly celebrated. There is the RSPB at Titchwell, Holme Nature Reserve, Snettisham RSPB Reserve and Scolt Head Island. You can see wildlife in its natural habitat at Blakeney Point (seal trips available), Cley Reserve and The National Nature Reserve at Holkham. From April to September you can catch a ferry from Brancaster Staith to Scolt Head Island NNR, a great example of an offshore barrier island. Foodies will not be disappointed. The Michelin starred Neptune Restaurant is ½ a mile down the road and The Orange Tree, Thornham (4 miles) has won Norfolk dining pub of the year for the past 3 years. The renowned Hoste Arms is 11 miles away in Burnham Market. The UK Pub of the Year 2015 - The Rose and Crown is down the road in Snettisham and the Jolly Sailors at Brancaster has been awarded the UKs best family pub in 2015. Titchwell Manor (6 miles) has two restaurants - the informal 'Eating Rooms' dining room, bar and sea view terrace with fine dining on offer in their Conservatory restaurant. There is a selection of excellent food shops in Burnham Market, including a fantastic fishmonger, a bakery and butcher. The North Norfolk Coast has a variety of gastropubs for you to try. Just up the road in Heacham (3 miles) is a lavender farm with lavender fields, shop, tearoom, animal farm, outdoor play area, gift shops, plant centre, Farmer Fred's play barn, restaurant and gardens. See the lavender in bloom from the middle of June until the end of August. In Thornham (4 miles) you will find a deli and café, the renowned Orange Tree Restaurant and a small selection of independent shops, a farm shop, café and excellent fish and chip restaurant at Drove Orchard. Brancaster (8 miles) is a pretty coastal village with superb sailing, including a sail school and a stunning beach. 16 miles to the East is one of Norfolk's best loved coastal towns, Wells-next-the-sea. This small historic fishing town has much to offer all ages. A fine beach and pine woods, miniature railway and busy quay, interesting shops and amusements. Poppy House represents excellent value for money for your getaway with prices in low season starting at £12 per person, per night for a 7 night stay and with all the home from home comforts you get from choosing a self catering holiday.
