After an excellent season.
We have upgraded the property with new carpets and redecoration.
Lovely 3 bedroom 3 storey cottage yards off the square with its bars and restaurants
a fabulous position.
bedroom 1 is the whole of the top floor has a king size bed on one side a double sofa bed in the other half lots of space.
bedroom 2 on the first floor has a king size zip together bed that is used as a king size double or can be unzipped to make 2 single beds.
bedroom 3 has a double bed
the property is a large welsh slate house 200 years old with character slate walls and a large stone fireplace with a wood burning stove.

Definitely return to this lovely cottage!
I stayed here for a week with my partner and another couple. From the photos it was obvious that this was going to be a cosy and comfortable place to stay and use as a base to explore the many attractions the area has to offer. When we arrived we were pleasantly suprised that the cottage had been redecorated in some of the rooms which only added to our already pleased outlook. The place was as clean as a whistle and fresh bedding and towels were plentiful. The bedrooms were arranged so that we had a choice of the very spacious upper top floor suite with king size bed and sofa bed, and two further bedrooms on the middle floor which offered a double in one room or the option to have another kingsize or twin beds in the front again very spacious bedroom. All in all a very comfortable stay. Such a shame the weather was too hot to enjoy the log burning fire, which means that returning in the colder months is definitely a must! The cottage is very conveniently situated with a very short walk to the bars/restaurants, local shop/post office and a bus stop in the square if you didn't feel like driving into town. Definitely coming back!

7 High Street Tremadog
When we opened the front door, we felt like turning around and going home. Basically, it was filthy. The house had not been cleaned. The carpet was so dirty that it should be replaced, everywhere was dusty, the walls and ceiling had masses of cobwebs hanging off them. The cooker was unhygienic because of the amount of grease on it. There was mildew around the window frames and on the wall in the small bedroom. The windows themselves can’t have been washed for ages.
Outside the back door there was rubbish strewn around which we had to bag up.
The bedroom doors stuck if closed, so had to remain ajar at night. Not very safe! (There was also no fire extinguisher or blanket!) and a resulting lack of privacy!
The bedding itself was unironed and smelled musty.
Turning around and going home was not an option as it was an eight hour drive, so we decided to stay and clean the house ourselves. It took the four of us three hours to clean it to a very basic, rather than excellent standard. We also had to buy new (and therefore clean!) bedding, which cost us over eighty pounds.
The garden, such as it was, was just an overgrown terrace, with broken chairs and bottles littering it.
There were also no facilities for laundry or for drying.
During the latter part of our stay there was a thunderstorm and it was at this point that we discovered a leak in the ceiling above the back door, so it was actually raining in the house, so the landing carpet ended up absolutely sodden.
The owner of this house needs to not only employ a cleaner but to totally revamp the house in order to restore it to its original Welsh charm, but most importantly to make it safe and comfortable for people to stay in. If we had had a young family, we would’ve booked a hotel for the evening and driven home the next day.
As it was, we made the best of things and spent as little time in the house as possible & when we left, the house was in a much cleaner state than that in which we found it!
I cannot stress enough that this house in its current state is totally unsuitable for not only a holiday let but any type of letting & I feel that quite honestly we are due some refund to cover the costs we incurred. (We did take plenty of photographs as evidence of the conditions!).

I just cant agree.
The property was cleaned as allways
We have never had this problem we have the same cleaners.
The rubish bag around the back was from next door and went on last mondays monthly collection.
All the bedding was new in july
We have added more bedding
If it was needed and we had a message sent we could have sent our cleaners back.
As to the back garden ours is the bottom part as in the picture.
the higher part with brooken chair is not our garden it is too the next 2 adjoining houses.
We dont put a washing machine in. As its done externally and a fridge and freezer is more usefull.
We have been full all year with repeat bookings

Great location
The cottage is just around the corner from a useful convenience store (open into the evenings, off-licence, tins, crisps, sweets, dairy, veg, simple meat options, wraps). There were 2 pubs and a fish and chip takeaway less than a one minute walk away. Everyone we met in the village was really friendly and welcoming. We did a pleasant walk up the hill visible from the village which gave great views in all directions. It was less than half an hour to the Zip World attractions at Blaenau Ffestiniogg and a similarly short drive to Harlech. Very convenient for walking in the hills and to waterfalls. It is possible to walk into the nearby harbour town of Porthmagog, which has takeaways, cafes and a good sized Tesco. The house itself has thick slate walls, single glazed windows and a woodburner. If you are a houseproud person who expects their holiday cottage to be flawless, like an interiors magazine, this may not be the right property for you. We had a dog and 10 and 13 year old children and so our standards are not at Kirsty Allsop level - therefore, the place being a bit more 'lived in' allowed us to relax a bit more, too. Our kids loved the attic bedroomwith its velux windows giving a view of the sky and the deep window sills they could sit on. It rained very heavily while we were there and a little water leaked under the back door but the roof most certainly did not leak, despite what the other review says. In February, I believe we must have been the first booking for months and I was impressed the cottage did not smell damp at all, nor was there mold. The gas is on a payment card which you can top up at the shop. It being winter, we maxed out on the heating and had it on full blast for 6 days and it only cost us £20. In summer, I imagine the cost would be minimal. It took a day to get some heat into the bricks of the building, after which the cottage was very warm. The area out back is a communal access, as such it is a little unloved and is not closed off, so if you have small children or a dog that you hope to let off lead in a secure garden, you will be better elsewhere. I normally cook on electric and though I could light the gas hob, the oven itself defeated me. Not a major problem as there is a microwave oven, but if you are not used to the knack needed to light a gas oven, don't rely on being able to cook pizza and garlic bread here. Overall, a simple cottage in a great location that suited a scruffy outdoorsy family like ours perfectly.

FANTASTIC!
Spent 7 nights with my partner & 2 children in this lovely cottage at the head of the square in Tremadog.
The cottage was a lot more spacious than expected, with an open plan lounge kitchen & dining room.
it was apparent that it had been recently decorated & had brand new carpets.
The lounge was very comfortable with an an amazing log burner fire which we used several times.
The kitchen was well equipped including microwave, slow cooker & separate counter top oven. There was even tea, coffee etc upon arrival.
Towels & bedding were supplied & there was even another tv on the top floor (this room is massive!)
The location was perfect for walks, there's a couple of pubs in the square & a lovely restaurant too. Theres also a local spar shop & post office.
it's a short drive to the town of Porthmadog but theres also a bus stop right across the square from the cottage.
Overall the cottage is well presented, clean & tidy & very comfortable & cosy... highly recommended!
