We really enjoyed our stay at Ellens Cottage in PEI. The house has all the amenities to support an easy family vacation including, and rarely found at rentals, a good non-stick frying pan and a sharp chefs knife. This house had everything we needed for my wife and I and our two young kids (aged 4 and 6). The house did require some childproofing and the evenings were quite cool however, Ellen supplied us with logs for the wood oven that heats the house and we enjoyed a warm fire to snuggle on the couch to. The location is central and close to many attractions on the island such as Brackley Beach, Stanhope Beach, a dairy bar, Richards seafood and a short drive to North Rustico and Cavendish. In general, PEI does require a lot of driving if you want to explore all it's great beaches and Stanhope was a perfect location to start our day from and, driving back to the cottage through the beautiful provincial park at sunset was always a treat! The check in process was a bit hectic as Ellen met us and walked us through the house while our two youngsters were excited to explore (house had not been childproofed yet). We are used to a lock-box type check-in. I would highly recommend this location to anyone looking to stay on the island.

Great cottage with a very private yet convenient location. Clean, well maintained and equipped with modern appliances including a washer, dryer and dish washer. Minutes from iconic beaches. Excellent access to National Park with hiking, biking and fishing. Cottage was extremely comfortable for family of 4 but could comfortably accommodate 5 or 6. The owners were great... very friendly, approachable and responsive.

We just returned from 2 weeks in PEI with our two young children. The cottage is ideally situated, a short 10 min walk to the beach. The cottage was clean and tidy, with everything we could need. Ellen was a great host, and very responsive. We will definitely consider renting again.

Chalet très confortable pour une famille , grande véranda fort appréciée pour journée pluvieuse ou soirée sans moustique. Les propriétaires sont les voisins, disponibles, mais très discrets. Nous sommes des habitués de l'Île . Ce fût merveilleux de pouvoir se rendre à pieds à l'une des plages du Parc National.

We just returned from our stay at this cottage in Stanhope. It was the perfect place for our family to relax on the North Shore. The cottage itself is very comfortable, and there was ample space for our family of four. We all loved the screened in room. The property is very private and peaceful, and Ellen and Rob were excellent hosts. We hope to return next year.

we had lots of. room. the screened - in sun room was a great place to hang out. hospitality was excellent. the gracious owners lived right next door. the Stanhope golf club is almost across the street. good breakfast and lunch at the club.

Ellen and Rob are wonderful hosts. They have thought of just about everything to make one's stay perfect. So much attention to adding the little essentials which make the cottage welcoming and convenient. The cottage was very roomy and the screened porch was an appreciated feature especially after rain and pesky mosquitos! Our hosts were only too happy to share their knowledge of the area and provide good info on restaurants and sightseeing which made it easier to choose the perfect spots. We both felt like we were reuniting with old friends right from the first. If you choose this cottage, you're in for a treat!

The cottage was beautiful. Very quiet and perfect for relaxing. Definitely well located for touring about. Ellen and Rob were perfect hosts.

Just as the description says: a beautiful, spacious and comfortable house. So nice to have two washrooms, a washer & dryer and a screened in back patio. Comfy beds and nice linens too. And it really was a 10 minute walk to the nearest beach once you figure out the trail route. My only wish was that it would've been nice to have a couple of basic food staples, like flour and cooking oil, but that was the only trivial quibble. Otherwise, our stay was perfect. Thank you, Rob and Ellen.

Property was perfect for us four adults. Centrally located to beach city and golf. All the ameneties of home away from home and excellent hosts.
