We rented Villa Saka for a week over the UK May half term so end of May as a treat for my Mum's 70th birthday. We were a party of 5 adults, 3 children between 2 and 8 years old and a baby.
The owner Sylvie was very helpful before and during our stay, checking before our arrival what bedding we needed and also equipment for the baby. She was also very flexible with the check-out time, allowing my brother and children to stay in the house until much later than the standard check-out time - this would only be possible if they have no other arrivals.
When we arrived at the house we were blown away by the very modern, stylish design and private patio and pool.
There are 2 double bedrooms, a mezzanine area and a shower room upstairs, 2 twin bedrooms and a shower room downstairs, as well as a separate toilet, open plan kitchen, living, dining area.
The kitchen is extremely well equipped with everything you could need to prepare meals and there is also a high quality BBQ and plancha outside too.
There was a cot, high chair and baby bath ready for us in the house and the separate en-suite annexe with double sofa bed was made up for my Mum which worked really well to give her her own space.
Location wise, the house is a very short to the beaches for swimming and surfing, convenience store, boulangerie, restaurants, bars, port, fish market, surf and bike hire shops etc.
We had unusually mixed weather for May but it didn't stop us having a great time.
We hired bikes, boogie boards, had lunches at Chez Minus on the other side of the port (moules, gambas and sardines only), the oyster shacks at the top of Hossegor lake, Napoli down the road from Hossegor beach and Tante Jeanne in Hossegor town, as well as a very good dinner at Pecherie Duchamp just down the road, towards the port, from the house. We wanted to try Les Petitis Oignons on the roundabout towards Hossegor town too but ran out of time and it was easier to eat in in the evenings with the baby.
Café Nina on the front in Capbreton is also lovely for just a drink, lunch or dinner and amazing sunsets.
A highlight was getting some fresh Sea Bream from the market and cooking it on the plancha. So fresh!
I am a luxury travel agent in the UK, working with only 4 and 5 star hotels, resorts and villas so I have very high standards.
I just found Villa Saka by chance on TripAdvisor but I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a stylish place to stay in a great location.
Thank you Sylvie. We hope to come back sometime.
