We couldn't have chosen a more perfect place to stay. The location was great, and the Old Schoolhouse was just amazing. It was extremely clean and absolutely comfortable. It had everything you need for a perfect stay. Walking distance to the Ashford Falconery, the Ashford Castle and a quick drive to Cong. Thank you Frank and Kersti we had a wonderful stay!

Simply gorgeous location and home inside and out! I was so impressed with the detail of this cottage, the front door, the windows, the flooring, the kitchen, the bookshelf items, the DVD's to watch, the fireplace, the cozy furniture, it is simply beautiful and feels great to be in. I could live here forever. I loved the quietness and the pastoral views, being able to walk to the castle or the village. Arriving through the front gate of Ashford Castle felt amazing. Meeting the Connemara horses, sitting at the table just outside the front door, I could go on and on about how good this place is! The Hosts are very attentive and also give you total privacy and space. It was perfect!

This divine little schoolhouse puts you right in the heart of fairytale adventure! With horse riding, falconry, Archery, zip lines, and a MASSIVE castle only a stone's throw away...you simply cannot go wrong. You get an entire cottage to yourself for a phenomenal price. Frank and Kersti have outdone themselves with providing such a perfect and quiet oasis. Seeing Kersti out most days tending her garden or out walks with her wee ones, brought such a warmth to the experience. We highly recommend this to anyone looking for peace, tranquility, and a touch of fairytale dreams! Our honeymoon here was perfect and we will definitely be back!! Thank you so much!!

I'm afraid I don't have the word's to describe the quality of this accommodation. The area it's in with walk's on your doorstep and so much to do right on the castle grounds. The village of Cong a 20 minute stroll through the castle gardens is where the Quiet man was filmed and the School House is in one scene in the film and many other locations are in walking distance. The cottage has everything you need for your stay. We stayed at the start of November and it has central heating and a wood burner with stock's of wood to use through your stay. The owners live in the property next door and were always available for any assistance needed . Thank you Frank and Kersti for letting us share your wonderful accommodation. Pretty cottage located in the grounds of Ashford Castle, in the quaint village of Cong. A great location for exploring Galway, Clare and beyond. Could have happily stayed longer than a week. Frank & Kersti were great help and always on hand if we needed anything. Loved the cottage, was so clean and cosy. Would definitely recommend!

This place is so magical! We loved everything...the cottage, the fireplace, the forest, the lake, easy access to gardens and castle and most importantly the feeling of tranquility and peace. Thank you for offering a place that created for us exceptional holiday time. We definitely want to go back and experience it again.

Beautiful cottage with immediate access to the fantastic grounds and views of Ashford Castle, one of Ireland's top hotels and estate. Close to Connemara and Galway.

We had a lovely stay in this beautiful home. Frank & Kersti were excellent hosts, with quick communication both before and during our visit. We were left to our own devices, but knew there were only a call away if needed, which we didn't in the end, as everything exceeded our expectations. There are lovely thoughful ammenities in the house such as a DVD player, SKY ( not that you'll need them, but we did have some rain so very handy for little kids ) dishawasher etc. All in all it was a home from home with everything you'll need. The locality is unsurpassed with the fabulous Ashford castle and all it has to offer quite litteraly on your doorstep. We biked around the grounds, and enjoyed the open spaces and fresh air. The kids loved the upstairs 'loft' and ensuite which gave them ( and us ) a great sense of freedom and adventure. I could go on, but in short would 110% recommend both the property. and it's generous owners. Thanks again Frank and Kersti. We'd love to return
