Please don't waste your time or money on this property
The entire place was dusty & dirty. An open jar of quick garlic had been left open in the fridge, which meant we were unable to use it. The kitchen was dirty with tea stains over the work surfaces. Food crumbs were in the fridge door. Various food debray was in the bottom of the kitchen bin. The second bedroom looked more like a dormitory there were 3 single beds crammed into the room which meant that the bedroom door couldn't be closed. There was no wardrobe in this bedroom, but there was one on the landing which I was going to use but unfortunately this couldn't be used as it was full of rubbish.. So I lived out of my suitcase for a week. The bathroom, especially the base of toilet, was very dirty!!.. There were numerous food products, which had been left open in the cupboard most of these were out of date by several years. On a positive note, the owner, was very quick to reply to any messages /emails that I sent. I feel, that paying guests, at this property, deserve far better.. I contacted HOLIDAY LETTINGS TO MAKE A COMPLAINT & THEY PUT THE PHONE DOWN. Please don't waste your money

It’s strange as I don’t recognise the comments by this guest. I’ve been in the self catering business for 27 years and most of my guests have stayed on several occasions. The house is prepared by myself and my wife and I can assure you the accommodation, as many guests have commented, is spotless. This guest was on the REFUND pathway from the outset but was not successful. I’m just surprised if the accommodation was so bad why did the guest stay a full week!! An extremely bad experience from my perspective,

Very comfortable house in Strangford
Lovely location. Lovely house which is well equipped.Excellent for families. Big South facing garden. Extended across the back of the house.Extension is lovely to sit in as gets sun all day and doors open out into the garden.Even has a wood burning stove if weather is cold.

Lovely house
A lovely house in the picturesque village of Strangford. we had to make a couple of changes for which Paul was very accommodating and we were very grateful. Response from Paul was always prompt. Would definitely return

Perfectly positioned, home from home
You simply could not ask for a better location. Within a block's walk of one of the best restaurants --- The Artisan Cookhouse --- that we have ever had a meal in. Across the street from there, we enjoyed a night with the locals at The Hole in the Wall Pub. Within stumbling distance, thankfully of our accommodation. The town of Strangford is a delight, a bit on the quiet side this time of year, but the ferry that crosses over to Portaferry allowing for a great drive along both the Irish Sea Coast as well as Strangford Lough, makes for a great day trip. Nearby Castle Ward well worth exploring. The house itself is very clean and inviting. If there was only one small request I would have made, it would be to have had a starter kit for the fire. The communication between Paul, the owner and ourselves was perfect. He was kind enough to extend a promotional voucher for our meal at the Artisan AND to have made our dinner reservation in advance. We will definitely be back up in the area and will choose Strangford 42 as our accommodation! Hopefully this summer when we can enjoy the beautiful back garden!

Excellent house
Beautiful house in great location to explore Strangford, Portaferry and national trust properties. Very clean and spacious property. Well equipped kitchen.

Lovely House in a great wee village
Really enjoyed our stay in Strangford. Perfect village for a quiet break with lots to see and do in close proximity. House in great location for local shops, restaurants and pubs. No 42 has everything you need and is beautifully finished

Fantastic home from home
Great stay again... 4th and counting. Got to visit family, have a few drinks in the hole in the wall and go exploring. Paul’s place is always clean and tidy with everything we need- like a second home every time we visit. It’s always peaceful and quiet -great location for exploring castle ward, Belfast, coastal route way and beyond.

Fabulous. We love No. 42, our 3rd stay! We will be back.
This was our 3rd stay with Paul & Claire. This time it was our 35th wedding Ann. Anytime we are in need of a break in Co Down we would not go past No. 42, Strangford. As always setting up the booking was dead easy and Paul is a pleasure to deal with. The house has two bedrooms (both large, there is a master bedroom and the other room has 3 beds in it), a lovely bathroom but the best bit is the living area at the back of the house with that large, glorious glass sliding door out onto the patio (and BBQ area), & the wood-burning stove - we love it. The lovely village of Strangford is just a short stroll away and there are loads of things to see and do, not least the ferry across the Lough to Portaferry, beautiful walks, never mind that the Games of Thrones is also filmed close to the house. Even our kids, now grown-up, love it and want to stay as long as Mum & Dad are still paying!!

Great base for a weekend in Strangford
Very comfortable accommodation packed with period details. Immaculately clean. Convenient arrangements for exchange of keys. Would highly recommend as a base to explore Strangford and the surrounding Lecale area.

Lovely property, lovely village.
The house was absolutely lovely. Everything you need is there. We had lovely weather throughout our stay so bi- folding doors came in very handy. Garden was lovely and private. I would highly recommend this property. Thank you very much Paul. Kind regards Lesley Dennis.
